Is it justified to report someone for spam pinging?

This has been happening in a few of my recent games, just removed someone on my friends list who did it constantly. If it happens in the future, is reporting a good option? Does Riot keep a log of ping usage the same way they do with chats? If so, how would they distinguish between legitimate pings and intentionally annoying spam pings?

Yea, spam pinging annoys me.

I’d report it as harassment with a note about him pinging.

If you continue to report the things that annoy you, like spam pinging, there are a couple effects: 1) Riot will gain the data that people consider it annoying, hopefully spurring them to classify it as punishable, if 1) then 2) You will teach the IFS what forms of pinging are annoying, If not 1) then 3) Even if Riot never classifies it as punishable, you'll focus the IFS' attention on the offenders, which will catch all their other potentially negative actions which will lead to them being punished more quickly than other players who are not reported for spam pinging.

I don't believe it to be justified for even getting offended by something like mere ping spamming. Tell them to stop/ignore or mute it and just move on with your game. Jesus Christ

Or you could stop being 5 and just press mute?
