"Team"mates Banning My Champ

This has happened to me three times just in the past few days. I declare my champion and someone else on my team bans that champ.

  • One case was "I don't want an Orianna support"
  • One was "it's fun trolling people"
  • The final was someone saying "Don't ban any mid laners" and I was the Mid on our team. I banned Lux because they didn't have a reason not to ban mid-laners and time was running out. So they banned my champ.

I think Riot should either 1. not allow players to ban other characters that have been declared on their team or 2. allow players whose champs were banned by their own team allow a skip on that game without the 5 minute wait timer.

It seems like the only people that do this are just being trolls. Any thoughts?

The ban mechanic has priority over the pick mechanic. There is no viable way to police someone's personal reason for banning a specific champion - first of all it would be hard to say what is and is not allowed, and it would be hard to determine someone's intent in doing so. Further, as I said, the ban mechanic has priority over the pick mechanic - that's just how this game works. If you can't live with your desired champ getting banned, either do not play draft or deal with it - it's how League works.

TLDR: You can't police behavior that is subjective and personal opinion.

no wonder this community is so much shit when its players are defending the right to ban a teamates champion. worst community of trolls and ragers. i despise it so much.

I do that rarely too. Last example:

I was second pick, mid lane. My top lane was last pick. He declared to pick Yasuo. Since I usually ban Yasuo for good reasons, and considering the fact he was last pick, there was a high chance that Yasuo might have come through - so I banned the champ. Hell, was he furious and threatened to report me. :)

Lol why would somebody want an Orianna support? It seems that you could cut down the amount this happens by a third if you didn't hover "off-meta"/troll picks
