CAN I SUE RIOT GAMES???

Hellboy lV·6/17/2016, 2:19:39 AM·4 votes·5,629 views

I recently started playing again on my season 2 account, bought a lot of RP yesterday. So today I try to log on into my account to play some ranked and a login error pops up saying that my account is currently inactive?? So my account is deleted or what??? I didn't get any warning, any justification, any help. And still not getting any help, don't think I'm ever going to get some! Nice, I just wasted a hundred dollars to get some sort of perma ban. Now I'm just wondering if I can sue Riot for implementing a kind of supreme dictatorship in their game. I'm pretty frustrated right now, this shouldn't happen!!

Send a support ticket and try to get some info about why your account was (seemingly) suspended. If you were permabanned you should've gotten a pop-up when you tried to log in, so if that didn't show up it may be a mistake.

You can.

Since you agreed to the Terms of Service at every new patch, you will lose. But I'm sure many lawyers will be happy to take your money nonetheless.

EDIT : Forgive me I replied to the title and not the actual post. If you logged in successfully to buy the RP, the login error today is likely just that, an error. You can send a support ticket, but you need to be patient. Someone from the accounting department will likely respond to you tomorrow or, at the latest, monday, provided you don't keep updating your ticket (That puts you back on the bottom of the queue).

What I'm saying is that Riot should be limited in taking action in peoples accounts, regardless if It's their game. We spend money and should not get bad surprises like that. I'm hoping the support will solve my issue, and fast.

Most likely you can't since you agreed to their terms when you decided to play this game on your own.

It's not really up to you to agree or disagree with them, nor it's like slavery. You can always choose to not agree to their terms and play something else, but almost any other online games has this format.

Short answer: no.

You agreed to the EULA and ToS which is pretty much bulletproof in a court of law.

As for if it were a bug, you should be able to just contact them and they wouldn't have a problem reinstating your account.

When you signed up and agreed to their terms and use that you did not read, it says that Riot is not responsible for anything you bought if you decide to act like a toxic jerk and get yourself banned. They are not obligated to refund anything and you agreed to it.

Now if it isn't a perma ban and your account just all of a sudden isn't working and you know for a fact you have not been toxic, send in a ticket and they'll help fix your account.

If it is a suspension you can send in a ticket asking why and you'll have to wait it out if you were toxic

Basically tl:dr

  • If you got yourself banned, you cannot sue
  • If it is a suspension, just wait it out and you'll have your account back when it is done

Yeah, well it shouldn't be. This is basically like slavery. The majority of people didn't care, or would get profit from it. Then people started to think deeper into it.

You can, but the court will simply shove your case into binding arbitration, as stated in your contract. It apparently does not seem to bother the government that most of these kids are below the age of consent...

If you've only recently purchased the RP and Riot isn't showing any intention to let you spend it, you can ask your bank or credit card company to reverse the transaction claiming fraud since they took your money without intention to give you any products for it. However, this will result in you definitely not being able to use that account again.

You both lose if you sue over this. I agree this has happened in the past and it kinda sucks but to compare this to supreme dictatorship? Buddy I think you gotta hear about a country called North Korea.

If you broke some rule Riot has made then legally you have no standing to sue them. I would investigate what you did wrong first before trying to sue a corporation by yourself.

are you sure you aren't logging into the PBE servers?

Cos Riot don't make accounts inactive on live accounts. they just remove the name if it has been inactive for a long time.

Now I'm just wondering if I can sue Riot

NO!

What you can do is send in a ticket.

Knight Sky6/17/2016, 2:22:41 AM1 votes

Well clearly if they perma banned your account you mustive been pretty toxic. And im pretty sure that its non refundable so no you cant. Dont be a toxic player

In a short answer, yes and no. But basically no. they have more money and you agreed to their terms and services, so you will lose. Send a support ticket to see whats up. Just because it is inactive doesn't mean it is banned.

Hellboy lV6/17/2016, 2:25:14 AM1 votes

I their terms and rights mean they can do whatever they want without any valuable reasons then it is not following the bill of rights.

I sent a ticket but got an automatic message saying that it was going to take a lot of time because the support is crowded, I feel like I'm going to have to wait a month so they just tell me that they won't do anything about it. I'm loving it.
