This is the second time IN A ROW where I get against a full team of smurfs and 0 smurfs on my team in plat 2. Ranked really just feels like competitive dice rolling at this point - it's becoming too much. Is Riot seriously not gonna do anything about this? Ban the smurfs or just at least balance teams around smurfs? 'Cause this is getting ridiculous.

there is quite literally a less then 3.6% chance a "smurf" on either team will even be of a high enough elo to actually have an effect on the outcome of the game.
someone who is d4 smurfing in a platinum 3 average game is hardly that much of a smurf.

Yup. Mostly happens during the last 2-3 weeks towards the end of the Season.
I mean I don't like people smurfing either, they should be playing at their own ranks imo. It's unfair having to play against people who belong far outside your rank.
What is also true though, is that the odds of you even finding a smurf in your game are quite small. As someone said above, only about 4% of players are better than Platinum rank. If a Diamond player smurfs in Plat, they aren't much more likely to win the game than any other Plat player is. Beyond that, you also have 4 slots on your own team to get those same smurfs. The only thing that is unfortunate, is that if you're not a smurf then the enemy will have 1 extra chance of getting a smurf. Riot does try to balance out the teams, they get them to a similar overall MMR rating.
For me, I've just accepted that I'm pretty much hard stuck in Plat myself. I'm the only consistent factor across all my matches. I don't really feel the need to blame my losses on smurfs and feeders anymore, since they don't happen every single game anyways...and I likely won't ever find those same people in my games again. People have bad games, people have amazing games. It's just how League is, nature of the game.
EDIT: If anything, I'm more upset by the people who bought their accounts and are in my Plat games, because they can't even keep up. I know they will eventually get demoted though.
Also a question for the OP, do you like to be challenged or do you just want to climb? I've always hated games that were a stomp on either side, and appreciate the close matches a hell of a lot more. It's more entertaining for me to try and beat someone better than myself, than it is to try and beat someone who is just worse.
