4/5 of my games at Diamond V have someone being boosted, or someone who was boosted

Can we please have more done to prevent this/ban these players faster?

It shouldn't be hard to detect this automatically. These players all suddenly jump from Gold/Silver to Diamond using champions and roles that they've never played before with 70%+ win rate, then change their names and go back to playing their usual champions, maintaining 20-30% win rates.

We shouldn't have to constantly deal with this shit, and it shouldn't take 100+ games before they finally get banned. You can actually look through these players' histories and see chains of boosted accounts.

I'll never understand the purpose of boosting

player is hardstuck silver player pays for a boost player gets boosted to Diamond player proceeds to get shitstomped in Diamond after boost is done bc he's not that good player falls back to silver

whats the point?

I just looked through the boosted player in my last game's history, and see that it has an unusually high win rate with Pyke, but doesn't play any other supports and no longer plays Pyke.

I find an old game where it played Pyke, and notice that it's always duo queued with someone. I look at that someone and notice that they've gone from Silver to Diamond and have an 82% win rate on Twitch, but don't play any other ADCs, and have sub-50% win rate with all of their other top champions, and no longer play Twitch.

I go through this new person's history and find a period where it duo'd as Twitch with someone other than the original player. I check this new player, and surprise, 73% Nidalee win rate, Diamond V 0 LP, doesn't play any other jungles, sub-50% win rate with everything else, and no longer plays Nidalee.

This is really sad. There's no way any effort is put into shutting these players down.

You know .. I wonder if the new honor system will deter the boosted. Cos once they get a 14-day ban for being boosted, they won't have enough honors in that season to get rewards, thus end up realizing it's pointless to get a boost.

I say league should just allow boosting and open up additional revenue streams for pro players. Boosted players will eventually fall back to where they belong anyway. Sure it may drag you down, but you are not boosted, u can climb back up right?

Part of the problem is that there's not a real way to build accurate reporting on boosted players. For example, you've gone through and identified a few as an example. But if there were a report button "Boosted" would you go through the effort of checking for such patterns each time, or would you just report everyone you felt didn't do well enough? I think you can guess what the bulk of the community would do.

It's not something you can ascertain from any one game, so each case would require review of the player's whole match history, connection locations, etc. In short, the review process for each case is rather lengthy.

It's definitely an issue, but not one with an easy solution.
