i got a question about honors/reports

getting valid reported can stop your honor progress, even if its not enough to give you a punishement

so now i wonder...

lets say theres 2 totally identical accounts: lets just say EVERYTHING about them is the same. only 1 thing differs one account is toxic, but gets honored all the time the other account is friendly, but never gets honored.

so if im correct (and thats my question here) the toxic account shouldnt actually climb in honor, while the friendly one should, but just slower than the average person does. correct?

Getting honored at the end of a game does help boost your progress a little bit, but not as much as playing and not getting reported/being toxic does. Roughly speaking playing a game without toxic behavior = HonorLevel+1, playing without being toxic and getting honored = HonorLevel+1.3. Getting reported = HonorLevel-1.

These aren’t actual figures from Riot, but it gets the point across.

The theory should be:

  • the toxic shouldn't climb in honors
  • the friendly climbs at an average rate
  • the friendly and honored climbs at an exceptional rate

Firstly, an account that is toxic will not get honoured as much even when this person repeatedly single-handedly carry the team to victory. ( HA good luck) Secondly, the toxic account will not have enough time to climb honour ladder efficiently because it will be banned.

However, in case, anyone wonders about the effect of the fake or inaccurate reports hindering their honour progression then the answer is that Riot does analyze player pattern, and it works very well.

If you constantly get reports but the auto system couldn't pick anything up then a human will interfere. For the most part, bots currently do a very good job.
