Why can people tell me to kill myself, and verbally abuse in the post game chat with no punishment..

Your teammates either join in, or sit back and do nothing. The character of the individuals that hide behind their computer screens and verbally abuse others is deplorable. It's even worse that there are 10 people in a game and no one ever stands up for the one being bullied. They instead, find the smallest irrelevant thing and use it as an excuse to join in. It's every. single. game.

I just finished a game where the chat in game was negative, but profanity was limited and it was generally directed towards bot lane. I understand frustration, but if someone has a bad game spamming them in chat and with pings is most certainly not the way to handle the situation. Act like an adult and suck it up. You have bad games too.

My problem in this situation, is that in the post game lobby, comments such as "go kill yourself" along with all the profanity that was lacking in the game chat (too vulgar for here) are unleashed on the poor individuals who had a bad game. There need to be ramifications for this behaviour outside of the game chat. People need to be reminded that it's just a game. I have bad hockey games, training days, I fail exams, but there are always people there to support me, so that I can turn things around and succeed. No one sits there and tells me to go die/kill myself and continue to drive me into the ground.

I've had someone die right in front of me, try to kill themselves next to me, etc.. I've seen some terrible things in my life unfortunately.. and to have someone say things in the post game chat (in a game that I play for FUN) knowing they wont face punishment is cowardly, and disgusting. I'm hoping that someone from ROIT can reach out so that we can follow up on this particular incident..

Interesting thing, if people add you, and then flame you, they wont get punished.

Even if you have evidence, riots stance is "if it isn't in game itself, it doesnt matter"

You can actually report on post-game chat -- I believe Riot logs it. Also, chances are if the player is toxic in post-game, they're toxic in other games as well. Also note that it's possible they were punished -- you only get the message if your report was the report that triggered the punishment. So if they got one other game in (or someone else reported them a second after you did) someone else would get the message instead.

Either way, sorry you had to put up with that. :(

You're right, I tend to sit back and grab my popcorn to laugh instead of "defending" some guy on the internet being harassed by a rager. Seriously how do you not find it funny when someone starts freaking out in chat? Even if it's on my team I find it more entertaining than the game itself
