I was hacked, stolen from, and banned for scripting on my account

Long story, but the tldr is my main account has been permanently banned for third party software but my account was hacked.

https://na.op.gg/summoner/userName=kek+sama

I was on my smurf account playing some ranked to finish up the season, when I noticed that my main account was online "Kek Sama". Suspicious, I logged off my smurf and onto my main account. Around 1 minute later, I was logged out of my main account from another location. This really set me off, and I immediately changed the password on that account. I did a sweep through the account and noticed that all my orange essence was used to redeem two legendary skin shards I had lying around, 100 prestige tokens were spent on the MF skin, 300 worlds tokens were used on a Senna chroma for a skin I did not own, and 10 gemstones were spent on a Kogmaw skin. I also noticed that there were 3 games of ADC played, 1 Ezreal, 1 Senna, and 1 Lucian game.

I played 1 Yasuo game with some friends in normals if anyone is looking up my opgg, then i went to spectate some friends' games. Then I got a notification in client stating that my account was suspended, and when I relogged, I got a permaban notification stating I used third party software.

I was not the one who used these scripts, nor have I ever considered needing them. If anyone were to browse my account on op.gg, there's good proof it wasn't me. I always average around 5-6 control wards per game, and I would never buy none. It's a habit I've built into myself to always buy wards. The three adc games that the perpetrator played had 0 wards on all three games. I also average around 6-7 cs/m in my games, while this person was only around 5. I also ALWAYS put my boots in the last slot of my item inventory through habit (which this guy also did not do). Now I don't need to have to go through this to prove that it wasn't me because Riot should be able to just track the IP address, no?

Anyways I sent this into Riot Support, updating my ticket as I got new information, as directed by a friend of mine who works at Riot (whom I will not disclose unless needed to).

The response I received was that my account ban could not be reverted.

Why is this the case? I was not the person who played on the account and used the third party software they claimed my account did. I have also never shared my account details with anyone and this is the first time this occurrence has ever happened to me. And even if I proved that the person wasn't me, shouldn't Riot be able to determine that themselves through IP tracking? Am I in the wrong here? What could I have done differently to even prevent a situation like this?

Each time you bump your ticket it places it back at the end of the line. My guess is the support person only read the last bit and not the first.

Submit a new ticket about your account being compromised and list every game you know wasn't you in control. If you're telling the truth they should be able to check location data for it. Once you make sure support understands that it wasn't you then you can ask them to re-investigate the cheating ban excluding those games.

Your case is not an unusual one and plenty of people have gotten their ban reversed in the same situation as yours.

This is happening pretty often lately, huh? Same thing actually happened to a friend of mine. Hope Riot identifies this as a clear problem on their end and fix this bullcrap.

Good luck, but Riot Support is notorious for their "copy pasted" answers, and not actually giving 2 F's about anything. Riot thinks they are always right when it comes to perma bans, and they almost always refuse to look into the problem..

If i have big issues i would use Live chat. Is 500% times better than the normal ticket!

From my own experience, i did a similar thing as you (but in less messages) and the Live rioter i talked to addressed to me only considering the last message (and sometimes ask me to start over since he, didn't got it?) so i had to start the conversation over but he did helped me.

Even tho the problem was from riot games itself (still cannot start a game of league, thanx for the new client/launcher) he did told me what to do.

Just an update on this situation, after 18 days I submitted another ticket explaining the lack of support from previous ticket. Thank you so much to everyone for helping me through this situation, giving me support and advice. I'm really happy to be able to get my account back and this situation was a tricky one. Thanks again everyone!

Ok im gonna give an answer as to why riot maybe hesitant to urban your account despite the fact your probably telling the truth and they have unbanned people in the past.

It likely due to the precidint they dont want to create. Imagine if someone decided to script and eventually gets banned. They get the idea to fake being hacked to riot support. Riot support decides to say hey maybe this guy was hacked. Then they decide to unban them in belief that the scripter was telling the truth. Now that scripter has gotten unbanned despite actually being the scripter. Next thing you know all scripter are using the same exscuse.

This excuse is not new either it's an exscuse as old as time. The excuse that someone else did it but you don't know who.

Riot is now put in a difficult position do they stop reversing the bans or do they continue to unban people knowing that these people may have been actually scripting.

Now you maybe thinking surely it shouldnt be too dificult to determine if somebody else was playing on the account based on their ip location. Well if you know anything about vpns you know why that idea is flawed.

IF your account was truly compromised they should revert the ban, at least that's what happened in my case.. I had an account that I haven't used for years comprised and the person who had control of the account was using scripts which got the account banned.. I did not know that but during the recovery process riot informed me about it and told me they reverted the ban as a one time exception.. maybe in your case there wasn't a strong evidence that your account was hacked... gl tho.

Yes! This happened to my friend as well. He got logged in from another location and got permad for third party software. This deserves more attention!

I just logged on to a permaban for 3rd party programs, and there 3 random games on my op.gg that i didnt play, so i'm in the same boat. If u get it figured out plz update if submitting a ticket actually helped. cause i tried but all i can do now is wait.

The case will most probably be solved quite easily since someone logged from a different ip address and that is the only thing they need to see to verify that it is not you (especially if the ip address is from another country)
