"Reporting" System

So I posted a thread about "PRE-game reporting in Champ Select", outing a player who was intentionally trolling in lobby. A moderator took it down stating if I wanted to report a player, I couldn't use their identity on the threads, (WHY?) and instead had to use the in-game reporting system. AKA, they are saying, we know you are about to get trolled, but if you want to do anything about it, you have to suffer the loss this troll imposes on you and your team, and report him afterwards.

What kind of logic is that? It blows my mind.

Alternatively, you can submit a Support ticket with information about the lobby (time, player names, etc) instead of using the post-game report, if you choose not to continue to the match itself.

As for the moderator, they were almost certainly using a standard form-letter response to name-and-shame threads, which are against the Boards' rules.

Literally stated, "I hope you guys don't think you're getting out of silver tonight, because I'm here to stop you." "I'm going to stand mid and dance all game" "Sorry if you thought you might win tonight" And then he instalocked nunu clarity/clairvoyance

I wouldn't mind a @Riot reply on this to explain their stance on forcing their customers to suffer before they can do anything about it?

Addressing why the moderator removed your post: "Naming and shaming" is against the Boards Guidelines, and while the player in your game may have been in the wrong, community judgements tend to not be positive posts in the community. Similar to how you shouldn't be negative to players in your game even though they were negative to you, harassment on the Boards is the same way. Riot will deal accordingly with individuals who violate the Summoner's Code.

if I am not mistaken you could have put up a screen shot with the names blanked out. That way you'd still be able to explain why you were upset to the boards and not get the 'name and shame' thing. And Riot could easily pick up what game it is from.

Ummm, actually this is still allowed right? Anyone ?

To the best of my knowledge, yes. So long as the names are blocked out, you're not considered to be calling anyone out - and discussing such situations is both common and accepted. It might be deleted for other reasons (posting in the wrong section, for example), but not for Name and Shame.

Thanks Jubbinaut for the answer :)
