"RIOT's bans are too harsh! You literally can't say anything or you get banned"

That's just completely wrong. You can use the chat, you can talk to your team, heck you can even be somewhat toxic to people, but not just blatantly flame your teammates with harsh comments that should only be used on your real-life enemies. I can tell one of my teammates "you suck" or "you are the worst teammate I've ever had" and I won't get punished at all because it's insulting but not that insulting. Meanwhile, if you spam your chat with "report x for y", "kys" and "uninstall u trash", you're just blatantly insulting them for no good reason. A good rule is "If I can say that while my parents are in the same room as me, then I can say it in-game"

You can tell players to kill themselves, as long as you work for Rito.

So if you have a problem with what you can or cannot say to players, just get a job with Rito. Rito won't hire you though unless you're female or identify as nonbianary, so tell them you're hexadecimal.

(Little rant) Honestly feel like banning players has become a worldwide issue that riot needs to fix. I’ve seen so many complaints about bans and how screwed up they are. Also even rioters have to realize no ones perfect and everyone goes through rough spots in their lives, which can affect attitude and game play.

I personally had issues in Jp (that I’m still trying to resolve) where I got suspended/banned for saying GG at the end game screen. I asked their support to show me some real evidence of toxicity and they refused~ A lot of rioters rely too heavily on the AI and don’t want to bother actually listening to players and resolving issues.

Though, I haven’t really seen anyone make out a real solution to the issue, but here’s an idea that will probably never be seen or cared about~~

Riot completely revamps the system so that everything is focused on punishing in game so that players who rely on league to stay in touch with friends or family don’t lose people close to them when banned. This also fixes the issue with riot stealing people’s money when accounts get banned. (We all know it’s screwed up that things you pay for to own and use are taken too, we don’t pay to support Riot we pay to own things so we can enjoy the game more)

My suggestion around this idea is to change banned account to banned from chat/ping. This way Riot and the player is content. The player can keep spending money on new things and Riot won’t lose players so they keep their numbers up. Feel like it’s a solid solution. Maybe even make it possible after 6mo or a year for people to redeem themselves. Feel like especially accounts that have been around for 5+ years should be more considered though. As well as that after a year or two past transgressions should be wiped from your record. At that point your life is probably intertwined with league and if you haven’t been banned in 5+ years then you obviously aren’t a generally toxic person~ sometimes bad stuff happens and Riot needs to get their heads out their asses and fix the system to accommodate that fact~

Wrong buddy. You can get banned for typing to much in chat. No joke :o

TotalSilencey1/8/2020, 3:40:41 PM2 votes

You are correct. Riot is this fucking stupid. They ban good payers and allow toxic flaming trolls in game. The bans have NOTHING to do with CONTEXT of what happened in game and their employees are too fucking stupid to understand these concepts.

INSTIGATION. CONTEXT.

Words riot employees need to look up in the dictionary.

Fucking tools.

A good rule is "If I can say that while my parents are in the same room as me, then I can say it in-game

Well, a lot of us grew up in different parts of the world as well as different eras. Things I couldn't say around my parents back in the day are now normal to say. Things I COULD say around my parents back then are now zero tolerance.

In my experience, you can't even say your team is "bad".

I got permanently banned for this...

Its over exagerated but its so close to the truth I don't blame people for being upset... I lost all my seasonal awards because I told some intentional feeders they were mentally weak... Yup. Fair. My SEASON REWARDS that are supposed to be merit-based... gone because a duo of int feeders decided to report me. The system saw 'you're mentally weak' and I got chat restriction.

Now that I have nothing to lose it makes me WANT to be MORE toxic. Not less. There's no justice. Riot is just a bunch of bullies who virtue signal.

EDIT: By toxic I mean Riot's terrible definition of toxic which includes literally anything negative. I want to be upset and angry and hateful now that my merit was taken away by holier-than-though people that used an AI and the words of intentional feeders (the feeders never got punished mind you) to take away my chance of getting rewards.

wrongly banning someone only hurts riot. they lose a player because that person either defended themselves against a verbally abusive person or toxic game play(first time champ in ranked, running it down x, loading in typing "gg nubs" then afk preventing the remake and pretty much guarantee los, etc...) even the people who when you ask for help they come to your lane, intentionally wait for you to die then take a kill on your enemy even if you might have got the kill from ignite they still take it. Then they flame you and continue doing the same. of course you are going to let them know watching teammates die regardless if they get a kill does not help the team especially you. I got bans/suspensions for this very thing. Not even any foul language just letting people know that their actions of game play abuse is more toxic than someone typing something. you can mute the typing and report it. It will most likely result in ban even if nothing toxic or harassing was said but you are in party with the other 3 people on your team and tricked the enemy into reporting so there are bunch of reports on the person who was actually getting harassed gets punished. Mean while the actual offender is free to go along their merry way of toxic and harassing game play. And of course there is going to be many saying "you are just bad if your team came to help and you die anyways". But when your teammate is there and telling you to go in they got your back so you go in trusting them(team game right?) then they purposely bail out so you die and if they can get kill they do either way they flame you and try to blame you for it. They are purposely doing this to make you look and feel bad but there is no evidence so they do it knowing damn well no one is going to stop them. If you say anything in chat there is evidence there and you get slapped. There are people who are mentally unfit to play the game, mentally unstable at times with no desire to win mass queuing up ranked games and the "make everyone else look bad even if its teammates" type of people who are allowed to continue this behavior with out recourse. It seems the majority of player bans for "toxicity" are people who do not agree with toxic game play and are calling those people out because the lack of punishment other than "kys" in game chat. I've encountered countless 4 person parties that will do all sorts of messed up things in game to you or your lane to get you to say one wrong thing in chat. Guess who is now creating a new email to created another lol account, and who is free to go do this same thing to many other unsuspecting people. You pretty much have to live with the fked up shit people do in game and not say a word about it or find a game that does not seemingly actively promote abusive/griefing player behaviors.

If i tell I tell my teammates they deserve a loss for intentionally feeding(which they did) and they verbally abuse me why am I getting punished and not them? If you int feed, you deserve a loss and you deserve someone telling you that int feeding will only get you losses. And if I have to continue to create new accounts just to tell people that they will get and deserve a loss for giving the enemy free kills then so be it at least I am doing something to deter them. You can try to argue the lead by example point but when you have 0 deaths and 20 min and you have not even said one word in chat and your team starts flaming/blaming you then your argument goes straight out the window along with the game play and matchmaking balance.

what they mean is that you can't say anything with a mite of negativity without getting chat restricted or banned

Telephone Booth9/6/2018, 11:31:13 PM2 votes

Honestly... you can't consistently tell people they suck and they're the worst teammate ever. Please dont spread misinformation. Be realistic. You're doing the same thing the people you're referencing do. You're exaggerating, but in the opposite direction.

I've been chat restricted for saying "this mf is the absolute worst adc with whom i have ever had the misfortune of being matched"
