Why am I matchmade with someone I just reported last game?

So, as the title reads, why ON EARTH does the matchmaking algorithm NOT rule out possible matches for your team THAT YOU JUST REPORTED LAST GAME.

Just played a blind pick match on this account where our Zilean support started crying about 9 mins into game, goes AFK in mid lane tower like a child leaving us to 4v5 for the rest of the game (after insulting everyone, of course) and we last for over an hour only to lose this game. I'm sure I earned no extra IP or EXP for the hour I spent as this kid's hostage, BTW.

Well, through our /all chat effort, we did our duty and got as many people to report this guy as possible. A few minutes later I get the message that our efforts resulted in punitive action so I decide to lick my wounds and reque.

And wouldn't you know, I AM MATCHED WITH THE GUY WHO I JUST GOT REPORTED. I am forced to dodge the queue. I AM PENALIZED. Since when does this make sense?

Riot, sometimes I have fun in League of Legends but this type of trollery occurs more often than actually having a fun game. The problem is you take too lenient and passive of a stance on this behavior and it will eventually destroy this game. The next big thing will come along, with better policies and this game and the sour taste all these bad apples you let stay will be the only thing they remember and they will jump ship. Look at your policies, read these comments that people are leaving you then take it to heart AND TAKE ACTION.

When I start a League of Legends game, I want to have fun, not fear how much of my time is about to be wasted by a troll.

Please, put in some effort.

They don't prevent you from queuing with someone on your block list because there would be people who would use it to 'customize' their play pool.

It would add popularity as a matchmaking function, and queue times would skyrocket (especially at the top where there are already long waits) as the system would need to match the lists for all the players in game.

Best advice is to wait a few minutes after the game and you most likely won't see that player again.

somtimes i feel like the queue dodge penalties are too high and the AFK penalties too low. Had a riven go 0/30 who spent the whole game running into the enemy base just to die. Reported her along with everyone on my team but no message telling me they got punitive action. On the other hand i had the client freeze and got a 5 minute queue. WTF

Everything you said here me and bunch of friends were almost saying today the SAME thing. A bunch of us are waiting for the next big thing just because Riot is too passive with it's trollery and toxicity. All of us are getting trolls and extreme toxicity every single game. It's non-stop, it's the League community.

Sure Riot won't care but man, we agree with you 100%

Did Riot reply us? Did they have any plan for it? Did they care about what we say? ---- NO

Because I'd run out of people to play with.

It is not "your duty" to ask other people to report a player. Do it yourself if you think it's appropriate, but soliciting reports is actually against the rules.

But yes, I think most people would rather have a longer queue time than be matched with someone they just reported.
