Just a warning to everyone that is trying to do this.

I am sure everyone had gone through dealing with mystery gift scammers. Well, here I am, another victim. I don't care much now about getting a refund or even removing that scammer's receiving. I had read through old cases and riot decided to not get involved with scammer thing, which I think is a nice choice anyways.

Here I already knew the answer of my support ticket of refunding about this scammer is no, so just have to say...

  1. Carefully exchange gift, you never would know if this guy is a scammer.

  2. If they did not gift you first, do not gift them.

  3. Do not try to contact Riot... I am not being anything but riot will not get involve into this.

  4. Make careful decision of adding friends.

  5. Scammers please stop.

I was pretty pissed off that I have got into this case. If riot actually did refund it, sure, it will be the Christmas present from riot. If not, then hope this scanner has a happy Christmas and I would never want to see him again. Also, I knew that this is 'gifting', so it is just a letter to me who is really dumb and to whom is planning on doing this.

Can't name shame on the forum. You'll need to edit it or risk getting yourself banned.

My personal rule of thumb; Don't gift someone unless you can bear not getting anything in return. It's a gifting system, not a trading system. Riot merely tolerates that people trade them.

Sure they will. They don't like scammers any more than we do. They will certainly take action - especially if you can provide significant evidence.

But that doesn't mean they'll refund the RP. After all, you sent a gift, even if it was under false pretenses.

While I understand people use it as such. In my opinion I wish people used it as intended. I like gifting random people, and friends. It's a shame that people take advantage of people's kindness, but all in all there is no one to really blame aside from yourself if you are adding random people in hopes that they gift back something. That is not the point of gifting or this system. You should be gifting people because you like to do it. Not expecting something in return.

You really should only be saying one thing:

  1. You gift at your own risk.

I think it's cool to enjoy gifting things to strangers, but don't expect anything in return. Even if there was some manner of agreement ahead of time. Such agreements are not binding at all, so there's nothing you can do if they take their gift and walk away.
