I NEED ANSWERS

I have 2 things to cover....

First, a couple days ago I was reported by my entire team (3 of them) and a few on the other team for toxicity which led to me being chat banned for 25 games. But their reasoning as to why i was being toxic was that it is a toxic thing to type in all chat asking the enemy team to report your team for feeding when 2 of your own team members admitted to feeding and the other teamate (who never comfirmed he was feeding) was 1-15 and was running in 1v5 constantly. How am I the toxic one getting reported when my team is intentionally feeding!? Like the report system must be broken.

Second, my internet for no reason went out for 10 minutes during a game. I struggled to get it back online and once I did I reconnected and played the game out. Once the game ended I was put into low-priority queue where I w]had to wait for 5 minutes before queuing for 5 games straight. WHY AM I PENALIZED FOR MY INTERNET SHUTTING DOWN (something I can't control). I mean Riot seriously... Your game is very poorly designed in this sense. There has to be some sort of algorithm that can detect the difference in a disconnection and somebody intentionally leaving the game. Please for the love of god fix this shit

102% NOT what happened. If you'd like, I can post the chat logs.

WHY AM I PENALIZED FOR MY INTERNET SHUTTING DOWN

Because you ruined a game for 9 other people. You made 4 people lose LP. This was not your first time leaving/afking. There is no way to differentiate between your internet going out or you unplugging your modem.

The number of reports is meaningless: the only thing that's check is for whether A SINGLE report happened. Any more are effectively thrown out.

It also takes more than one game to get a chat restriction -- if you're looking for feedback here, we'd need to see your chat logs. It is also possible to be toxic in a game with players being more toxic -- their behavior does not justify any toxicity in your behavior.

There isn't, actually -- any such algorithm would only be able to tell if the Quit button was hit. All Riot knows is that your client stopped sending data -- it doesn't know if you force quit the program, shut down your computer, pulled the cable, or had a power outage. It actually CAN'T know with the information Riot is legally allowed to obtain -- how could it?

I see many of you saying that the number of reports doesn't matter and thanks for letting me know cause I honestly never knew that, hence why I sometimes post in all chat for my teammates to be reported when I feel they've broken the rules. I always just assumed that if somebody was getting reported multiple times their likelihood of getting banned would increase. I'll stop doing that.

Asking for reports, publicly saying that you'll report someone, publicly muting someone, and calling someone toxic or troll are all negative behaviors.

1 report does everything that 9 reports does. No need to ask for others to report.

Muting and reporting are private decisions, that should be used to defuse a situation. That is, if you mute someone, you stop caring what they're typing. If you decide to report someone, you can relax, knowing that the system will handle them so you don't have to be the one to punish them with insults. Saying publicly that you're doing either of those things escalates the situation. Making them more upset at you, and more likely to do things to cause a loss.

Calling someone toxic does nothing to stop their toxicity. If they were toxic, report them after the game. You can also mute if you're done listening to them.

Calling someone a troll does one of two things. If the person was not trolling, you're abusing someone who was trying. This will influence them to play worse than before. If the person was trolling, 'calling them out' will encourage them that they got a response. This will influence them to play worse than before, to get another rise out of you. Wait, that means there's only one result, worse teammates who are more likely to lose the game.

Defend yourself with, "You're mistaken in your analysis" or some other variant of that idea, if you need to defend yourself. But, don't go overboard. The more time you spend typing in response to toxicity, the less you're playing the game. Mute helps, if you can't help responding to people. Messages that don't communicate any gameplay information can be viewed poorly by the IFS.

The leavebuster system was intentionally designed to not differentiate between rage quitting and internet outages. The reason for that is leaving, no matter the reason, ruins the game for 9 people. If your internet shuts down often enough to trigger Leavebuster, you have a responsibility to fix it. I don't have the skills needed, but if you post in Help & Support, I've heard that they can assist you there.

If you got punished for disconnects that were out of my control, however that means you've had a past disconnects like I have.

I even sent the support agents screen shots of my emails with Verizon regarding the internet outtages in the past and also screen shots of the verizon service outtage maps that were cahced for those days showing my location actually had no internet to blocks around my area.

This led to the service agent stating "you shouldn't play when your service is spotty"

I have to say that was a fucking shitty response from the service agent because I cannot control when Verizon gets spotty. I replied with something like "I can't control when Verizon goes down or when the weather interferes with their service. If it's an issue because it's happened several times even though it's out of my control, that's just the circumstance I have to deal with, but these aren't rage quits"

Never got a response from the service agent again.

I've changed ISP's and the number of disconnects has gone down SHARPLY and I haven't gotten punished for my disconnects since then.

Asking to report players is reportable. No matter the instance.
