I'm writing today to discuss some major bullshit- and that's the leavebuster system- which, 9 times out of 10, gives penalties to the wrong people. I cannot tell you the amount of times the leavebuster system has penalized my account for "being afk" when it was nothing more than either hardware issues, internet issues, or client issues, because the game was remade and i was marked as afk, or because i was kicked out of a match and couldn't rejoin said match and was again, marked as afk. Now anytime some problem happens I rush in fear to try and get back in the game before the fucking remake timer shows up, because its almost a guaranteed ticket to leavebuster. Hell, I was thanked by the system itself like a week and a half two weeks ago for not leaving matches or going afk. Why? Because I don't leave matches unless i'm having issues and physically cannot join back in. These leavebusters are bullshit because of that fact. You need a better fucking system that doesn't judge solely on afks. Because, at least for me, I'm never afk on purpose. I've had people in matches blatantly go afk and they receive no punishments- all the while flaming the team for being shit and continuing to be afk- yet because I can't rejoin a game because of issues, I get punished? Like wtf is the point of playing, spending my time and my own money on your game, if I get treated like nothing more than a statistic, and not an avid lover of your game?

Riot can't tell why you left unless it's a problem on their end.

If it was anything to do with your computer, your isp, your client, all Riot sees is that you disconnected from the game. Your team is just as negatively affected regardless of why you left. They still have to fight a 4v5 because of your absence.

If you're having computer/ISP/client problems often enough that you're getting hit by leavebuster. For the sake of your teammates, FIX IT before hopping into a matchmade game. Don't play a game when you suspect your connection might be unstable. Test your connection with a custom game.

if nobody made fake hardware problems to leave games, A system where they check if the problem is hardware related would be perfectly doable.

However, if you would implement a system like this in league, trolls would just recreate afk situations to troll people.

It is annoying you get caught on internet troubles and have to deal with this but, there currently isn't a system Riot games can insert without also allowing huge troll abuse.

I am sorry this isn't a satisfying answer.
