Riot becoming increasingly more intolerant of behavior or was I truly that bad?

Hello, thanks in advance for reading. As a bit of background, I've been playing this game for the last 6 years off and on. When I started I was just playing for fun and then soon after I started playing to win. During, season 5-7 I spent notably less time (10-80 games/season) playing ranked to focus on University more. In the last 5-7 months since I started playing consistently again, I received both: a 14 day suspension and a permanent ban 3 months after. Are there ulterior motives or are they just under more pressure now after recent events. I am not terribly angry nor do I think I am without fault and I've accepted their choice, but I do want some player opinions on the situation.

The 14 day was for 3 games where I: called someone [a bundle of sticks] for counter-jungling me, flamed my jungler saying he's useless and doing nothing (we won this game), and for being negative, saying "gg", "go next", "ff" though I never give up gameplay-wise. I would agree this was a DESERVED ban for my unprovoked behavior.

The permanent ban is for a **single **post game lobby argument with a player who deliberately tried to lose the game and flamed me and his support, including, saying in game "he knows [we're] white" because we were trying to win what he viewed as a lost game (I was 8/6 & he was 1/6 at the end). I asked him why he was racist against white people. He responded, "I'm richer and smarter than everyone", which perturbed me extensively. As a result I got angry and called him a [bundle of sticks] once, dishonorable behavior and cited as the reason I was perma'd specifically, said he was probably lacking in other areas of life if he's bragging about being rich, telling him being rich won't make his life more fulfilling than everyone else, and being salty that he was both openly racist and so spoiled. I ended up, calling him small (metaphorically), giving up, and leaving. My behavior in this case is definitely wrong in how I handled the situation (I should have just reported and left); however, is a 1 on 1 argument in post game lobby between me and this person grounds for a permanent suspension when only one person is even affected.

I will not post logs for the lobby and I hope no one else will either since it has both some of my personal information (old University) as well as his (twitch and reddit I think). Also, the main reason I was banned was for "hate speech" due to me using [a bundle of sticks] as an insult, regardless of my actual opinion on matters.

PS. I am half-white half-Hispanic in case it mattered to anyone.

That's a ZERO TOLERANCE phrase and nothing anyone else said could have justified its use.

Yes, you were out of line and zero-tolerance is a no go and has no place here. You should have muted them and moved on.

{quoted} PS. I am half-white half-Hispanic in case it mattered to anyone.

Irrelevant and meaningless. What you are mean absolutely nothing to the community or Riot. No one has special privileges. You're not permitted to use any offensive slurs regardless of who or what you are. So no. It doesn't matter and never will matter. **Period. **

why would it matter in the slightest?

Riot has imho a zero tolerance line for ethnic/rassistic/homophobic use of words. So it sounds logic that you are banned.

And for my part I think zero tolerance is a good thing in that cases. There is no reason why someone should have in mind that the color of the skin matters. And if [in bad cases for bad people] so then there is no reason why he should argue about in a computer game.

The more or less proper way of controlling this is automatically checking chat for such words.

In the last 2 days, I have been told to kill myself, been called retard, had my family threatened to be killed, and just got out of a game where someone on the enemy team told me that he wanted to rape my mother when I said nothing to him. None of these accounts are banned. They are active. I am getting really frustrated with the system considering the absurd amount of people who get banned for petty shit.

This system is a serious issue and should be on the top of Riot's list to either fix or get rid of it. I would like to respond to such threats without putting my account in jeopardy if Riot isn't going to do shit about it. All of these happened in pre and post game lobbies since I mute everyone in game due to the fact that Riot only punishes the people who respond.

so you used a zero-tolerance phrase, got punished and warned not to do it again

so you did it again...

Hello there... why would you talk anything bad at first place, calm down, rethink your chat, open new account and show yourself from the best side not that dirty one. Have a good one bro feels bad but there is always chance to become a true Legend without insults by opening a new account.

Kind of off topic, but did you intend for your name to be a Touhou project reference? Otherwise what a surprisingly accurate name if interpreted how most people would.

What is a bundle of sticks? I'm not a native english speaker, and i have no idea what does that mean :D

Also, if you do not want to get punished simply avoid chat at all. With the current PC SJW views forced on the players (yet in the company they do not care about it), you can't use the chat even for a slight argument without exposing yourself to possible punishment. So at least for me that chat related punishments seem much harsher to me than in the early years of LoL.
