Report players for lying in All chat

If a player lies to the enemy team in All chat making false claims; they should occur a severe ban. It should have its own report tag and all cases should be handled firmly. Slander is against United States Law, it is defined as "the action or crime of making a false spoken statement damaging to a person's reputation." and yet it is not a ban-able offense in League of Legends? Its not easy to report a player for doing so? There is no accountability for players using slander in All chat to A) get innocent players they've been harassing all game to occur further harassment from the enemy team; or B) use the tactic of slander to avoid additional reports they might receive from enemy team who can not confirm what has or hasn't been said in team chat. This needs to be addressed Riot.

Slander is spoken. Libel is written.

Thank you J. Jonah Jameson

On the other hand, this is already covered in the broad sense of harassment. False reports aren't going to make a difference.

Additional reports don't matter. All it takes is one report to trigger a review of a game.

Report them for harassment. Verbal abuse, its the second one in the list.

Just mute them and report them for harassment. Even if they report calling u and say u inting. If you are not doing it even if all 9 of them report u , nothing will happen. I have like 2k reports and still havent been banned / chat restricted ... I disabled all chat , no need of it , the chance for you to tilt is way higher if you have all chat on.

This is an old thing. People baiting others into saying something nasty to throw a report at them. You simply need to mute-report them, don't fall into their provocation and try to explain anything. That or you can submit a manual ticket. Also, USA law < Riot law in Riot's games. Everything depends on their decision, nothing that US state law has any impact on.

I've seen so many players come here and confuse Riot's game laws with American laws or their own country's laws. OR on how they'd act IRL. Like some guy who actually had an account since S1, losing it because he tried to defend some transgenders etc. by flaming back the guys picking on 'em. Guys. Riot has Riot's policies. And as long as you're playing Riot's games, those policies are what come into play. Please do not confuse what you'd do IRL or your country's state laws with Riot's policies and then get punished because of it.

In short, OP. There is no accountability and Riot's too lazy to confirm on who's right and who's wrong; who's lying and who is telling the truth. There is no gray area, its just black or white. Some poor posters repeated what their obnoxious teammates said to them and got punished for it. This should set things clear for you and give you a good idea on where things stand. And, I doubt they'd change this approach unless they hire more staff or get the Transformers/AI from Cybertron as their 'IFS' bot.

Laws typically don’t apply to video games and why should you care about what a bunch of randoms say in a video game. Yes it sucks when people all think your trolling or inting when it’s not true but reality is your most likely not gonna encounter those 9 people again and they will most likely forget everything anyway. Just report the assholes next time and move on

my fave thing is when someone goes "report xy pls" and i go: asking to report is a rulebreak and 1 report does the same as 9 and instantly they go "stfu fucking nerd"

ah... such a great feeling to then continue and trigger them some more :D

"Damaging to someone's reputation" Important detail there.

Except that the "libel" was against a Riot games account. For one thing you lack standing to bring the case as you are not the owner. Likewise, the account can't bring a suit because it is property, not a person. Ignoring all that, hypothetically, any monetary damages would be rewarded to Riot games as said owner of the "entity" damaged.
