Is "kys" automatic ban?
Someone said it to me and they are not banned so I am slightly confused. I always thought it was automatic ban.

Words should never be a perma ban. If i tell someone to kill themselves (and actually mean it) it shouldn't mean a perma ban. A mute, maybe, but not a ban.
People are such snowflakes.
Telling someone to KYS or kill themselves is a 14 day suspension or perma ban if they have already had a 14 day suspension
By design, it's a zero-tolerance phrase resulting in a minimum 14-day ban, and a perma if it's not their first rodeo.
In practice, the system will sometimes miss people. There's no good explanation for why this is, it just be like that.
Note that you are NOT guaranteed or even likely to receive a notification of a punishment based on your report, so don't make assumptions based on a lack of notification.
i cant find the thread anymore but someone posted a screenshot of someone in his team telling him to kys and to get a gun and blow his brain out, he linked the game and showed that its almost 3 days old with the person still playing.
this reminds me of that "69 army" or whatever they are called who I THINK were the first to say "0 tolerance phrases should be called 1 time tolerance phrases" because using them ONCE does not get you banned.
that and the n word are basically an instant bans, i said the n word twice in a game and have been banned for 14 days dont say them
How do you know that they didn't get banned?
So yesterday I reported somebody who said "kys" and i got the feedback a few seconds after that game... but you know what? I didn't care about what this player said, I just abused the zero tolerance trigger because I didn't like how he played and I almost feel sorry, because it's actually just the absurd matchmaking that gives me team mates who appear to be inting when maybe they are just really bad???. xD
I really don't care that some kid tells me to kill myself....like I am not gonna kill myself because of that and for me this is just a different way of saying "fuck you" because they are frustrated for whatever reason...
Objectively my report was actually false, because I reported for gameplay reasons but Rito smacked that poor dude with a 14d ban for chatting. It's kinda weird.
Now he is probably making a new account or something but he won't have any reason to change, because he is really frustrated now by bad games and being banned afterwards (for chatting btw) and he probably doesn't even understand why he is performing poorly, I feel like Rito just gave this player more reason to be frustrated and to not improve his gameplay.
I kinda doubt that pissing off angry players even more will give them an incentive to get better or nicer. Wouldn't it make more sense to just let players sort this out themselves? I don't think people play this game to get a therapy or to be parented by Riot Games.

I thought it was
unless nobody bothered to report them then should be given a ban very shortly. if you are that concerned to it send a ticket to riot staff with a screenshot of it.
acc to humple (eu mod), it is not an insta-ban! BUT the ppl who use it are often rather rude anyway.. so, i would guess it raises your dunce score quite a bit.. and if you have a bad history rip, else you should be fine :p remember, think about the reason a player must be banned, rather than "oh 14 days enjoy bb!"
i know saying "kys" gives you more chance of being banned, but I was once pushed to the peak of my toxicity where I for the first time ever asked someone to "please kill yourself" but no ban was issued. I think it's probably cause the way I say it (please kill yourself and not kys)? I'm not sure.
I believe its an automatic 14 day ban, at the very least. I dont know how instant it is though.
Someone said "kys r%%%%%s" to me in a 3v3 game.
I reported it... few hours later I got the Instant Feedback report.
But yes.... "Kys" will bump your punishment tier up to a 14 day ban immediately.
what kinda nonsense in this in the first place? tomorrow i can tell some one to ''JUMP OFF BRIDGE ''and '' JOB '' will become a ban word since its exactly like saying '' GO KILL YOUR SELF '' aka ''KYS'' , if some one takes their life that is their choice regardless of me saying it or not , i didnt force them to do some thing by force , i didn't insult them , i didn't take anything from them or bend their will in any way , this is stupid to even discuss , there i no law against this no regulation local or global against this , telling some one to do some thing with the intention of misleading them is one thing , but telling some one to kill them self's regardless of context , unless you are ACTUALLY PHYSICALLY FORCING THEM some how to DO IT saying it is not a crime of any sort , and any action a person takes is NOT YOUR RESPONSIBILITY , sorry but this is nonsense , its a fallacious argument
I just reported someone for this an hour ago. He was a 1/11 top lane Nasus who was running it down lane in a game we could have won.
When he said it he put spaces between each letter.
So just in case, I screenshot it and put in a ticket.
20 minutes later I got the IFS notification.
Good.
System working as intended.
I think if they say it once it won't do anything, as I have seen a few times where it doesn't get a ban but if they are spamming it then it will definitely hit the insta ban.
