Permaban over a game I wasn't in?

A couple days ago some guy disco nunu/T1 style run it down mid in my smurf's game - and has been for at least 35 game in s8. So I reported him and submitted a ticket, clearly the ingame report wasn't working.

Today I log in and my main accout has been perma banned, the only game referenced is linked which just so happens to be a game by the guy I reported.

I never played with this guy on my main, only my smurf though I submitted the ticket via my main. Riot somehow banned the reporting account rather than the actual troll, and as my account has had a previous 14 day ban this one is a perma ban.

The 0/9 Nunu was the guy I reported and submitted a ticket about.

The responding support staff was "Cpt Charisma" who has clearly shown a new level of ineptitude in banning the reporting player and not the reported player.

Send a support ticket protesting it, then. Assuming you are not blatantly lying, this was an error.

Well it was an odd choice to report him Via Your Main, not much sense in that, but in either case, just send a ticket to have it cleared up! Live chat.

LOL reminds me when i asked riot if im allowed to play customs with a friend who is scripting (friend is scripting not me) and the support said "thanks we will investigate against the player you mentioned" and the only name i mentioned was my own LOL

I'm hoping this isn't a case of "we looked into him and banned him, but then we also looked into you and saw mild negativity in your account and permabanned you since you'd been 14-day banned before."

Because if Riot does do that, it's going to discourage a lot of people from reporting negative behavior.

Well at least permas placed in error are like the only ones that get reversed. Hopefully support helps you and resolves it.

Looks like OP is still banned. I'd think a mistake like this would be rather obvious and quickly fixed.

Might be more going on here than OP is telling us.

Or maybe I'm just giving Riot support way too much credit.

EDIT: 5 new games in OP's match history, appears OP was unbanned.

don't sweat it thanks to twitter and twitch these vauge terms of use these people are abusing to legally steal are going to be found illegal and mandated to change nto sure how much longer it will be but that's why they are vague. almost no one is banned for racism or sexism its almost always salt with an afk or feeder or other less banned toxic issue. your better off letting it go im kinda bummed that riot has such massive connection stability issues still wonder if zac exploit is still abused and if these mods banned the idiots calling it a feature both here and in game sine it was clearly a bug and exploit which means cheating.

not cheating... right~~! hope riot games knows people talk to irl friends face to face so you can ban but a ban doesn't change facts. seems to be a lost concept to these companies.
