Is it bannable to threaten feed/afk?

My biggest pet peeve in this game is being spam pinged (?) for not following along with a teammate's obvious mistake. Or, y'know, you have a hair trigger moment and Flash at a bad time. Then your teammate spams your Flash cooldown in chat and proceeds to spam ping (?). Or you build something slightly off meta (eg Trinity Illaoi or Fiora), and they spam your item in chat if anything bad happens to you.

My experience is that you can make them stop by threatening to afk/feed/leave lane, at which point the other teammates will tell both of us to cut it out, stfu, and get off tilt. The thing is that I want to win, and I never have any intention of inting or losing. I have games where you probably couldn't tell the difference by the numbers, but it's just a combo of shitty play, piss poor adaptability to change, and godawful judgment.

It works like a charm and sends a message that spam-harassing could backfire. But if it's reportable, I'll stop doing it.

To answer your question, yes. But not directly. If nothing goes wrong and you don't die much that game it should be fine. But If anything goes wrong and you end up having a bad game (and get reported) the system will review the game, see that you threatened to feed, see that you died a lot, and connect the dots to assume you intentionally fed. It's not worth the risk, so I would recommend you stop doing it.

If a player misuses pings in that manner then it is obvious they have no intention of using them properly. You can safely mute their pings without worrying about missing any pings that are valuable to team cooperation and strategy. - just to make sure, you do know how to mute pings right? I don't want to assume that you do and then leave without actually being helpful.

Or you can just mute and avoid the potential ban.

All I ever say is, 'Oh, so you're harassing. Interesting' and they usually chill. Similarly you could find more civil/ not bannable ways to send a message that would generate the desired results. If they come at you with things like 'you're ruining the game not me' you can say 'Tell that to the ToS'.

I guess if it works. That being said I have people threaten to AFK to me. It doesn't bother me, I tell them to go right ahead.
