Premade Groups and Power in Numbers

Summoners,

I've recently had a game in which I feel I have entirely lost interest in League of Legends. Prompting me to have discussions with friends about what game we can play instead where we can avoid a community as nightmarish as the one League of Legends has become. Regardless of how I feel about the state of the game, I have always enjoyed playing with friends and even if we lose, I can say that I've had fun. However, on a night like tonight where I queue by my self and am put into a group with at least 3 players who are together (I know this because I checked their match history to see if they had played together before) , I am left wondering why I bothered wasting any of my time and or money on this game. I'm fine with losing. I'm fine with players have bad games and inting every now and again, as you can never know what is going on in somebody else's life but tonight wasn't that. Instead, I was getting harassed before minions even got to lane by my adc saying "bet you kog feeds". And it only continued. These players then, for the rest of the game, berated me over and over for things that were nowhere close to my fault in a 3on1 dog pile in the chat box. Dying to my lane and then blaming me for my lane opponent being fed. Following me around to try and take my farm. Emoting every single time I died. Continuing in the post-game lobby. I understand a singular player having a bad day and getting frustrated with people, but what is super discouraging about this encounter is that it was the abuse of numbers because one player did not like my champion choice (AP Kog mid). It has made me want to quit a game that I have sunk many hours and money into, not because of the game direction or because the company itself has wronged me in someway, but because 3 people decided their time and energy was best used trying to worsen somebody's night. My largest concern however, is that not a single one of these players will get even so much as a chat ban and I was not recording the game so I cannot share footage of the harassment. Please riot. I just wanted to relax and enjoy my evening with some League and instead am doing what I feel like is wasting my time in the hopes that a tiny bit of justice might prevail in the system.

tl;dr - Groups of players can feel overwhelming to play with and the ban system feels unreliable sometimes. Sincerest regards, Just a person

The IFS is not Minority Report. The harassment or negativity has to happen before someone can get punished for it.

When people start talking like that, just mute them. They’re obviously not going to be useful to listen to during the game, and you’d save yourself a lot of harassment and grief listening to them.

I get it sucks, but the problem is that there will always be toxicity. You can rest assured that your report on them (assuming you did) counted just as much as if 4 people had reported them.. and just as much as any of their reports against you. There is no such thing as “report power in numbers”.

Be it 1, 4 or 9 reports, the investigation is the same. The extra 8 have no influence in the outcome at all.

just mute them and ignore em.
