Riot and their Broken punishment system

Most people in the league community have experienced how toxic and unplayable this game can be at times. So, how does Riot treat this epidemic? They permanently ban everyone who doesn't give them publicity, and give pro players the benefit of the doubt. This system is so horrible fractured, that a lot of people who used to play league are looking for alternatives.

For an example, my account was recently banned for egregious behavior, which was absolutely the case in the chat logs (which were homophobic and racist). However, I had overwhelming evidence that I wasn't even near my dorm room when the game in question took place. (I go to college and have multiple roommates). I asked for help with recovering my account and changing my credentials, to which I was denied, probably cause they honestly don't care about what I have to say but that's fine ( you are also welcome to not believe me, that's fine as well). I told the Riot employee that if it was possible I would take a lighter punishment even though I was not the person playing at the time, so that I could still have my account, and they could still punish the account.

So lets look at another example, C9 Jensen, who was banned for being toxic, and now he is playing in the LCS.

This is a systemic problem that Riot has done a horrible job in punishing fairly and equally. Much like how taxes unequally affect the lower income class, bans and punishments unequally affect players who are just casual players. I would have been fine with a long ban, maybe a month, as long as I could play on my account and change my password and secure it. When you permanently ban someone's account, they are not going to say "I'm going to change my ways and be nice". They are going to create a new account, and be just as toxic, because they know that its a lost cause if they get permanently banned. The ban system should not even have a permanent ban, but an escalating ban that gets steeper with each infraction. This will cause people to actually start changing their behavior in game.

As we have seen, many players who used to be solely league players have opted to switch to other games (like overwatch), Mostly because league is not the same as it used to be. When you punish someone, it has to be a fair punishment, or else people will start to resent the punisher. I think that Riot's ban system needs to be completely revamped, to remove permanent bans and instead use a system that gives harsher penalties and longer suspension based on the number of infractions.

No, all players are treated equally regardless of them being a pro or content creator or how much they have played or paid.

You are responsible for keeping your account information safe, and allowing others to use your account or not observing reasonable account security practices will make you liable for the actions others take on your account. If Riot Support determined you are responsible for what happened then that's the end of that account and there's nothing to be done.

He did not receive his permabanned account(s) back. He only was allowed back into pro play and to create new accounts.

If you don't learn from it that's you, but it works for the rest of us. You personally going back to toxic behavior doesn't mean they should stop permabanning people; that is the 4th step of punishment anyway, and very few people ever get that far before they start being mature and improve their behavior.

Even pro players are permanently banned from time to time. So, your entire argument is false.

Stay banned.
