I need help to stop getting permabanned

D4YN·5/29/2019, 2:44:00 AM·2 votes·5,101 views

I've been permabanned across 21 accounts over the span of 8 years (thank god I'm not a streamer or anyone relevant), and it's become increasingly harder for me to stop the process. I genuinely try to be a better player and stop typing/target inting/etc but sometimes it just gets really difficult. I can't /mute all because I get curious about halfway through the game and unmute everybody. I love when people flame each other, and when they flame me I almost can't resist flaming back. I have tried my very best to stop inting ever as the years have gone by. I just can't resist doing these things once or twice every couple months and its been really difficult for me to reform.

If anyone has any type of advice thats what I'm looking for, because I really am trying to improve, I just have a tough time doing so. Today I have gotten a 14-day suspension on my 22nd account for flaming, after my longest streak of going unbanned (6 months). I really do think I am improving however I am nowhere near where I want to be as a player.

Not everyone can thrive in every kind of environment and there's no shame in that. If somethig that's supposed to be a source of entertainment ends up causing stress, anger, and disappointment, then why continue to subject yourself to it? Compulsions are also not healthy. As soon as something like a video game goes from "want to do" to "have to do," it may be time to make the decision that benefits you most in the long run - say goodbye.

Remove your enter key.

Edit: Not sure why I'm getting hate for this, I'm right.

Set goals and self reflect on what you are doing wrong as an individual and change.

Learn not to engage with obvious toxic players and play your game.

You are here to play league of legends not to get in an argument with someone you will never meet in real life.

Uninstall this game.

Install animal crossing pocket camp.

Thrive.

The solution is to not play PvP games.

You have proven beyond a doubt that you actually dont really care about reforming in the slightest and have no ability to stop, so just do something you enjoy more.

It sounds like you enjoy seeing and producing hatred and toxicity, but you realize that it ends up harming you and you're trying to change. When an issue like this - similar to alcoholism or gambling addiction - interferes with your normal life, that's a disability (and I don't mean that in a negative or accusatory way). I suggest you approach this as a broader challenge about changing your behavior rather than just being about LoL bans. That means, in a word, therapy. But that doesn't necessarily involve lying on a psychiatrist's couch at $300 an hour - it just means actively working to change your behavior or outlook in a directed way. For example, CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy) is a short-term therapy technique that can help people find new ways to behave by changing their thought patterns, and you can find many CBT worksheets for free online.

Good luck!

Do you have fun playing? If the answer is no, why play in the first place?

I recommend trying to either hide the chat box by dragging it where you cant see it anymore, or unbinding your enter key. If you live alone or are in a private space you can talk out loud. That helps me a lot. Hell, if I'm on a call with my gf I just rant to her about how the game is going.

It's good to hear you're improving though! Good luck in your future endeavors!

That is sure a lot of bans. I deal with my anger by taking every thing, i mean every thing as a joke. Of course i became a shit player, less competitive. But at least i have fun with the game. No need to get mad over a game.

Sounds like you got personality problem outside of the game not just in the game and you need to stop playing instead.

xDogMeatx6/5/2019, 12:12:14 AM1 votes

just accept that you cant control the match/feeders just focus on your performance plus muteall play the most fun-est champ you know of.

Youre doing fine, don't change or else they get what they want

Icy Hot Shoto5/29/2019, 3:13:08 AM1 votes

Try moving your chat off screen. You can also try unbinding your enter key if you want. Or mute after it starts and ignore the cat before it gets you banned again.

Don't int. Ever. Otherwise you're just going to keep getting banned no matter what else you change. Just play the game through, then if you really feel the need to die a lot just because people upset you, jump into a training game and die all you want in there.

Don't respond to flame either, especially if your just going to flame back.

When there's any kind of toxicity, whether it be in chat or someone trolling/inting, ignore it. After the game ends take a 5-10 minute break. Get some food. Get something to drink. Walk around your house. Watch a video about cats. Do whatever helps you calm down and de-tilt.

DuskDaUmbreon5/29/2019, 3:32:06 AM1 votes

Honestly? I'd seek therapy, as it might be a symptom of underlying anger issues.

Besides that, though...It's all avoiding tilt, and realizing that lashing out hurts them less than it hurts you. Another suggestion I have is vocalizing your anger instead of typing it - You can't get banned for yelling at your screen, and it lets out the same anger either way. And to stop flaming back, if none of that helps, you can always physically remove your enter key. You don't need it to do anything but type. Not inting is more a perspective of if you win enough you stop seeing these assholes.

I hope I helped, and the best of luck to you.

seek a psychiatric therapist, you need professional help identifying the cause your need to communicate in toxic ways and unquenchable thirst for trolling. on a side note this is why league is so toxic. permabans don't stop them.
