Does permaban actually works?

So I recently got permabanned and I'm not saying, I got it so that means I overdid it with chat. But isnt a "permanent ban" too much and maybe not even working in some cases? Now, what I mean when I say it may dont work on some cases. I have played so so many times with teammates that claimed that they have been permabanned before. And their behavior didnt change at all I have to say. And what do I mean by saying "too much": I mean like, someone has put money on this game. Someone have been harrassed by someone and kinda gets triggered and responds with not a clear mind. I know I have a fault on this one, and whoever does it it's HIS fault, but everyone makes mistakes, that doesnt mean he should get prevented of playing the game.

What I really wanted to add as a suggestion, not only to get my permaban off. But also to like improve the game for real. because flamers never stopped, and a permaban will never stop them.

So 1st idea: perma chat ban So lets say. The flame goes on. Still goes on for a couple games. Perma chat ban. that will prevent the player from creating another account and keep flaming, and just go on without the ability of chating. pings and champ select chat is enough of communication for someone that talks offensive and does not help his team with the chat. or after a couple of chat bans perma chat ban !BUT! with 4-5 texts per a whole game.

2nd idea: prevently language filter (for all players) I mean riot, has set up a system which detects the toxic words. Insted of that they would use it someway to not let the player send a toxic message/text. It would detect a toxic word and a notification will tell you that this is not allowed. No player can send toxic words that way, with no way.

Like seriously stand a minute and think clearly about it. Before you think that I'm a dude that got perma'd and just want his account back. I can create another account. but what about the people that gets perma all over and over again and just wont stop being toxic? If the goal is to clear toxic off of the game, permaban is not a solution. I mean there are flamers that wont even get banned.

I'm talking SPECIFICALLY for CHAT BEHAVIORS

^up so we can get an actually clean game with no toxic chats. [slayer-pantheon-thumbs]

I mean, permaban does work Because if someone has spent a lot of time and money on their account, with a perma ban they lose it all It's a punishment (I know it sounds really bad when you think about it, but rules are rules) And then if you want to play again, you have to start on a fresh account, and some people quit which is riot's goal, to get the toxic people to quit the game

I honestly like the idea of a perma chat ban etc, but it's not gonna happen

Several issues with the idea of permanent chat ban... First, people with a chat ban will find other ways of trolling in game. Feeding, going afk, forcing lane swaps, .. the issue isn't with the player's ability to chat, it is with a player's inability to stop themselves from acting out. Unfortunately, Riot can't make someone grow up, but they can take steps to minimize the way this will negatively impact other players. The process they have is far from perfect, but it is there none-the-less.

The other issue I see is that you are underestimating the fact that people do have the desire to behave in a toxic way. I agree that there are probably many people who have received punishment from minor issues, but in those cases, their minor issues must be occurring with a high frequency in order to result in a permanent ban. Otherwise, they are receiving these bans as a result of extreme, and publicly known to be unacceptable, toxicity. However, there are still more people out there that do this on purpose because they feel they can get away with it, .. and sadly, they can. You said yourself, they can create a new account and continue to play with little to no punishment other than needing to start over and losing the content they paid for. I have zero doubt that there would be people that would have no issue with starting a new account just so they can trash talk players in chat again if they receive a permanent chat ban.

This is sadly how people are, and it doesn't help that the target age group includes people who are prone to this behavior.

Would I like to see improvement? Absolutely!

Do I think Riot could ever create a "clean game with no toxic chats" ? .. Probably not. :/

Riot actually used to do constant chat bans. But they changed it because players would rack up a ton of chat bans, and just troll in other ways such as inting, following other laners/jglr around, stealing cs/camps, baiting teammates...

In the end, it was determined that if they can't stop being toxic at all Riot doesn't want them here.

Who knows? Does it get rid of toxicity completely? No. Would any form of punishment do that? No. Is it the best punishment system? Probably not. Has anyone come up with the perfect punishment system? Probably not. Could any punishment system satisfy everyone? Hell no. Does their system stop players from leaving their game? No. Would perma chat bans? No, they didnt. Should the game stop being free to play to make punishments a bigger deal? Yes. Is that just my personal opinion? Yes. Does everyone share that opinion? No. Does everyone share your personal opinion? No. So what should we do? Just go with your way? Or mine? Or should Riot come up with their own way to maximize profit as much as they can and we should just learn the rules and follow them, or stop playing? What do we do man? Perma chat bans just cuz then you could play still, even though it didnt work? Its a god damn conundrum with no perfect solution.
