I find it pretty bothersome you can get penalized for calling someone a loser %%%%%% after they just shittalked my adc into leaving the ranked game, a game we were winning by a huge lead mind you, and he just ran his mouth at our adc who was not doing well. You can penalize me for saying a word, sorry i hurt ur precious feelings, but the thing that bothers me more than anything in this whole debacle is the fact that this little douche can sit here and chide one of our teammates into leaving the game, e v e n t h o u g h w e r e w i n n i n g, and i get in trouble for calling him a loser for scolding a teammate even though we're winning. I get it, I probably should have just not said anything. BUT I REPORTED HIM AND HES STILL PLAYING GAMES, so that there in itself is all we need to assume that the reporting system doesn't actually punish toxic players, just toxic words that the riot tribunal community, through blatant racism, homophobia and other stereotyping, has associated certain meanings with

even if i was penalized off of the 'assumed context' of my words, why was HE NOT PENALIZED for the assumed context of his? Being much more offensive considering we were winning. you often see rampant toxicity on the losing side of a team....but rarely do you see it on the winning side, and specially to have that completely unnecessary toxicity make another player feel unwelcome enough to leave a game with a 20 kill lead...how do they go unpunished...while i am penalized for trying to defend the honor of another teammate? so dumb

with the amount of money i've spent over the years on this game, final straw, back to wow

I'm 30. I have a job, happily put up with insults and attacks here as a moderator, and generally don't give a fuck what someone calls me.

If, however, you feel the need to insult your team or break out hate speech during my relaxing gaming time, I don't want you as part of that community. It's not catering to children to demand a little bit of politeness and respect: bars, restaurants, movie theaters, miniature golf courses, coffee shops, and pretty much anywhere else you can name demand that, so why should gaming be any different? Given limited free time, I'm going to spend it in an environment that is welcoming and fun, rather than one where I have to deal with people being jerks to each other.

Catering to children would involve allowing them to throw temper tantrums in chat. Adults actually know how to express and process their emotions without random slurs.

Funny you chose that comparison when the demographic that usually holds the idea "He said something I didn't like so that means I'm right in doing whatever I want." are actual children.

Yes, if they bad mouthed the adc into leaving, they deserve a punishment. The words of a rando from the internet are not a punishment. You did the opposite of defuse the situation.

And using language like that will always resort in a punishment.

They're not catering to children. That's why they banned you.

So throwing tantrumts is the adult thin to do, while expecting respectful and calm communication is childish?

Fighting fire with fire and the world go to ashes. Use fire extinguisher next time. :^(

Others have said much better than me on your hypocrisy and why you got punished so I'm gonna try to focus on a different part of your argument.

You didn't get punished for calling the enemy a loser, or defending your adcs honor, you got punished for hate speech. Hate speech that, despite your beliefs wasn't defined by riot and the tribunal but by society at large. It's not homophobia that makes riot and society associate a negative connotation to the word f&&&&t, or sexism for the word c&&t, or racism for the word n&&&&r. It's the long history of those words being used to dehumanize and demean certain groups. The usage of the words to propagate their respective ism or phobia is why the words have those definitions or connotations.

The actions of someone else do not excuse your own. Not sure why this is such a hard concept for people to grasp.

-guy literally insults our teammate into leaving a winning game -i call him %%%%%% for literally making our teammate quit a winning game -beta behavior community completely overlooks the toxicity to latch onto one word that didn't even imply a hateful meaning -state of league of legends
