Why people do not reform!

This Applies to hardcore gamers that play atleast 10+games of league on a daily average basis(Not Casuals with just IRL advice about in game behavior):

  1. You are going to run into Casuals that have real lifes, and do not take the game as serious as you(so Dont talk to them)

  2. Riot when you ban someone for toxicity per say, no point letting them make a new account because you already took away their account they dont care to get banned anymore. (My point about this is that you are actually being a hypocrite company, because you know they wont reform but allow them to make new accounts.)

  3. Chat restrictions are kind of a joke 2/5 Chat really solves no issue, because I can confirm many toxic people that just dont use chat. Just silence the account because this will help the player actually reform over time. If you just take away his account, he will actually never reform because the discipline system is like an abusive father to a child that is not learning quickly.

Need to implement different discipline systems because most people that are toxic will not troll(because they want to win) and actually have no self control yet, which can be learned. So actually a 2/5 system is setting you up to fail and a silence system will 100 percent be more effective, but i guess riot is benefiting off people making new accounts buying new skins and champs(money issue).

Reforming is an internal thing.

Regardless of what the discipline is, if a person didn't want to reform, they won't. On the other hand, if they truly wanted to reform, then a warning is suffice.

  1. So? This game should be ok for casual gamers and serious ones alike.

  2. There's no way to feasibly prevent someone from making a new account.

The permanent chat restriction was a thing in the past; however, players just found other ways to be toxic.

.1. Choosing to ignore this point because you seem to want to label based on number of games which is stupid imo.

.2. Disagree, there are people who after losing one account make a new one and don't lose it again. Largely because they did choose to invest money again. There will also be those who won't reform, but how do you suggest preventing people from making new accounts? Even the ID banned had to confirm before banning which means the account was still made.

.3. So back with Tribunal there used to be infinite scaling chat ban/restrictions. You know what there became an influx of when people couldn't flame/be toxic? Gameplay trolling and inting. So the whole silencing account isn't effective either.

You want to say they ban for money and I think that is stupid. If I lost an account I invested in and didn't plan on being better, I wouldn't invest money again. Skins are cosmetic and offer no benefit. Champions can be unlocked for free overtime. Why spend money?

If you find enjoyment in leveling new accounts, then by all means, go right ahead.

The majority of people are going to give up making a new accounts, it's simply too time intensive. And buying an account, while against the rules, would add up over time.

The bottom line is that if you want to play league of legends, you have to behave appropriately. If everyone followed the rules, the game would be in a much better state.

On the topic of perma-mutes Riot Tantram posted about this a few months ago:

It really breaks down into two categories.

1.) Helping players reform 2.) Shielding others from the behavior, at a cost.

We used to issue chat restrictions that essentially scaled indefinitely.

We were able to determine that after a certain point the penalty no longer helped with reform. The 10-game and 25-game counts for chat restrictions are based on data that they were both light enough, and felt strict enough to encourage people to understand their behavior is unacceptable in game and change it.

We also saw that the players in this 'large restriction' category defaulted to gameplay altering means of harassing their team. It caused an increase in feeding and trolling.

The sample size of this population and time frame is huge. Essentially the time spanning from the introduction of chat restrictions to the introduction of IFS.

So my question for you is, would you rather have more feeders and less negative chat?

On the topic of Riot encouraging banned players to make new accounts, From Ulanopo's Knowledge Base:

“Riot bans people because they make money off of forcing people to create new accounts and repurchase the skins.”

Just stop. This is a really silly argument. I didn’t pay for my account any more than you did and while I have bought a number of things, I didn’t have to. There’s nothing relevant to competitive play that I couldn’t have bought with IP.

Also, Riot actively discourages people from making new accounts.

From Lyte: (link (http://forums.na.leagueoflegends.com/board/showthread.php?p=33432435#post33432435))

Actually, if we're permabanning you we don't want your money or your time. Just find another game.

(Help from MadmanWithBox)

Also, Riot understands that they can't stop players from making new accounts even if they IP ban them (which they tried in the past to no success due to collateral damage and the fact that they're fairly easy to get around anyways). All they can do is try to encourage people to reform and continue to punish the ones that don't or won't. Like Kei143 said you could implement the best reform system in the world but it's ultimately up to the players themselves to decide if they want to reform or not.

P.S. I would suggest avoiding continuing with the Moving the Goalposts logical fallacy if you want people to continue to discuss this with you.
