I Just Realized Something... Has This Not Been Mentioned Yet?

Why aren't we using the replay/recording tool built into the client to prove we have afkers/trollers?

Just got an afker that I know reporting won't do a damn thing about.

But what if I record it and send it in through a support ticket...?

First of all, Riot has all replays already, so sending them that is no different than reporting with information as to what the player was doing to troll.

The problem is many players want others banned for "trolling" when it's actually more likely they had a bad game. Repeatedly dying, being behind, going to the enemy jungle, these things are not trolling and will not be punished.

True trolls are punished quite quickly, and if you'd scroll past the last couple weeks here on the boards you'll find multiple examples of this.

Here's what you're proposing:

  1. Download game data from Riot
  2. Open that game data in the replay tool that Riot made
  3. Using the replay tool, convert that data into a much larger video format
  4. Send that data back to Riot, only now in a format that takes up more space

Basically, the suggestion adds nothing. Riot could just as easily open the replay on their side as they could open your video. Instead it just takes up more server space.

The hold up isn't a lack of accurate reports of trolling, it's in actually verifying the behavior is trolling. The matter gets even more complicated when you take into account player skill. A Bronze level player doing their best would be accused of Trolling if matched with Diamonds, but it wouldn't be trolling. However a Diamond level player behaving like a Bronze player while playing with Diamonds would be trolling. Then you've got the ever changing list of "that's trolling no matter what elo," where you catch running it down mid only for Disco Nunu to show up or disgruntled teammates stalking their Jungler all game.

Typically someone responds with something similar to this instruction when someone complains that they have video proof of the troller and feel despondent about it. It's good to have it show up every day or so on the boards to spread awareness maybe. Or maybe it doesn't help. I've never heard back about it.

Because there already is a system that does that without the use of replay and when investigating, Riot could already look at the game?

Edit: You didn't need to downvote guy, he was just asking a question.

Actually Riot Support DOES use replays to identify afks and trolls, as well as use them to remove punishments from players, you just have to bring it directly to their attention! I know this because a player let me know that he was reporting me through a ticket which ended in me being banned, but when I brought it to their attention that the merits of this persons claim were dubious they reviewed the replay of the game for me and had the ban rescinded.
