12 Day Ban

So, after suffering a chat restriction last season, I've kept my cool and earned honor...today, I flamed the hell out of someone, said some mean things, because he was insulting me after we lost, he was queued support, and I was mid: he said, I don't support in bronze, and chose zed(he was last pick). I didn't want to lose lp for dodging, so I played, and muted everyone from the start to prevent any distraction...he went mid lane with me, and left botlane alone---their support ended up going mid as well, however... Tell me Riot, why is it fair, that I am banned for 12 days, and this guy who was trolling from the start, who did what he wanted because he didn't care otherwise, gets to receive an instant feedback report, letting him know that not only did he throw the match, waste an two hours of my time---two, because I had one the previous match, only to lose due to this guys trolling---it isn't fair...you can say he didn't deserved to be called names, but he was insulting everyone after trolling...My point is, if I can be punished for the things I say, which can have an impact on people, well, why can he not be punished for disrupting everyone's play: this wasn't a meta choice---the game decided i was the support that match, he stole cs, forced himself mid, and I lost my cool, which isn't an outrageous reaction to someone having an impact on you. Forgive the rant, but their needs to be retribution on both sides, be fair...what are WE supposed to do when last pick completely ignores his position because, 'I don't support for bronze', What do we do??? dodge? incur the loss of lp because I have no other escape route? how about a system where I can see that someone who does things like that incurs some punishment? I would feel a million times less inclined---while I darn near already am---to flame...once again, I never tilt, but when I do, I don't flame---these situations do happen--- the report system needs to be improved...griefing does nothing, it is too broad... the whole team reporting someone should provide instant feedback, and I mean make it visual---help players blow off some of the steam, instead of making them think that person will be completely fine unless he drops an f-bomb

His actions are punishable as trolling, FWIW. Unfortunately, troll detection is definitely lacking, so no guarantees that he gets that punishment.

That being said, flaming a troll doesn't fix anything and just encourages them.

Chat is mainly reviewed and punished by an automated bot and can provide feedback within 15 mins of game's end. Disruptive gameplay offenses are mainly reviewed and punished manually.

Manual reviews have backlogs and require time to go through history. They also don't provide a punishment notification.

Not saying he'll get away with it, but different offenses, different timelines for processing and different feedback mechanisms.
