Okay, what if you couldn't ban your teammates picks IN NORMALS?

I know I made a similar thread about a week or so ago, but the topic keeps popping up on these boards.

Brief overview: People troll their teammates by banning the teammate's pick in champ select. It's also occasionally done by accident and causes trouble. In some cases it's done honestly if the pick is highly contested and the intending teammate is a low pick, because the teammate has a presumably low chance of actually getting the champ.

That honest choice to ban a teammate's pick to spare the entire team from an early pick on the other side seems, to me, to be the only arguably legitimate reason to ever ban your teammate's pick. Any other reason is some form of trolling, griefing, or general douchebaggery.

So, how about we prevent it from happening in norms? Hedging pick odds to avoid FotM picks is something we can afford to reserve for ranked, I think. Let's take a step towards stopping people from being trolled in SOME games at least.

Then people being people, idiots would start abusing that to troll their teammates.

Oh, you wanna ban Yasuo, because you really would rather not play against him? Well, nope, I am going to sit on the champion during the ban phase, block your ban, and then pick the champion I actually wanna play.

You think people would not do that? Look at the chatlogs in the behavior board, and tell me that again.

Blind pick. Problem solved.

We've been over this before but it just doesn't seem to be clicking so let's go over it again. Yes, it's shitty when people ban out your champ just to troll you or to try and get you to dodge, but that's just one side of the coin. On the flip side of that coin, there are some people who just want to chill and play a regular game of League of Legends without having to worry about top lane Braum, or jungle Nami or support Rengar. It isn't fair to ban others' champion picks (if they are legitimate picks), but at the same time, it also isn't fair to force someone to play with a troll pick on their team.

To be honest it's easier to never give your teammates the opportunity to ban your pick. Ever since hovers became a thing, I just don't hover if I think my teammates might take issue with my pick. Screw that teammate for thinking they have a right to control me.
