20 min - Low Priority Queue

Hello,

I am writing on here because I think it is a little bit harsh of a punishment to receive a 20 minute Low Priority Queue for not being able to connect to the server. I usually get honor in my matches and always try to give honor. I have a long standing history of never leaving games intentionally. The thing is, I cannot do anything about not connecting to the server. This does not happen often, but it happened today. I don't recall when the last time this happened was, but now I've been hit with a 5 game 20 minute wait.

Maybe we can make a distinction between never connecting to the server and those that leave or AFK during the game. After all, we can now remake games without penalty for the team that starts down one player. Hope to see improvement in this section of League in the future.

best regards,

Jon

  1. How is Riot to know whether someone didn't connect intentionally or not?

  2. The end result is the same - you left your team without a person.

Leaverbuster has nothing to do with honor, and if you’ve got a 20 minute timer, that implies you’ve worked your way up from 5 minutes and 10 minutes.

If you think that the time lost by remake for the other 9 players isn't a penalty, then the LPQ you are experiencing is also not a penalty.

LPQ lasts for 5 games. 5 x 20 minutes is 100 minutes.

There are 9 other players in the match. 100/9 is 11.11111 minutes, or 11 minutes 6 seconds.

If you wasted less than 11 minutes 6 seconds of time for each other person, then your punishment is longer than the time you wasted. If you wasted more than 11 minutes 6 second, then your punishment is shorter than the time you wasted.

First is que time. That lasts generally between 1 and 10 minutes. For this exercise, let's say it lasted 3 minutes on average across the 9 other players. 8 m 6 s remaining.

.25 minutes/15 seconds for declaring a champion. 7 m 51 s remaining

4 minutes for banning, picking, and setting runes/summoners 3m 51 s remaining

Loading into game takes between 1 and 5 minutes. When someone DCs, it normally takes quite a long time. Let's be generous (to you) and say 4 minutes.

  • 9 s

Now the 3 minutes it takes to remake. -3m 9s

3 minutes 9 seconds x 9 is 28 minutes 21 seconds.

You wasted nearly a half hour more time than you are being "punished". The time you wasted was also the time of completely innocent people, and your time loss is a direct result of your actions.

You must be a repeat offender to get to 20 min. No sympathy for you man. 😂 😂

Under normal circumstances league is quite generous in terms of DC, unable to connect, or power outrage. It's when you repeatedly dodge, DC, disconnect will you be punished. And even that happens in increments.

If you were considerate of other people while your internet, power, computer, emotion is unstable, you should take a break and let other enjoy Thier game.

I had Riot's Blitzcrank Bot autoreply mention I left/dodged 11 of my last 26 games. (20m X 5 games)

Strange that, I got DC'd on two games definitely and was able to finish the matches. Not entirely sure what they are counting as a DC/leaver because I've not ditched THAT many games. I usually play them out whether it's win/lose/surrender.

and when I did dodge a match it was a family emergency (only reason to ditch a game honestly unless your house is on fire or home invasion)

So I don't think the system is working quite how they expect if they can detect that many games in such short time, what puzzles me is if I'm getting false flagged due to connection disruptions...does the system call that out as part of their leaver detection?

Love the system, but not when it fucks up.
