Blocked Player: In my game, on my team???

So, when all the players filed into the lobby for Champ select, after the selection of names rolled through, I got an additional notification: [Name of Player] is on your Blocked List, and you will not see Chat messages from this player.

...what the literal hell is this foolishness? If I BLOCK someone it's because I don't want to PLAY with them. This can't have been some sort of bug, because apparently LoL client knew full well this person was on my block list, and figured it would be OK to pop them onto my team.

...no?

...doesn't it even, quite explicitly state when you Block someone that they won't be selected to your team?

...so WHY did this person end up in my game????

In the past (older patches) I've also had trouble with muted players being magically unmuted, or blocking someone unmutes them, or muting someone unblocks them... or something. It would be much appreciated if on my end I decide "I'm never going to play with this clown again" that this was something that would actually happen.

Blocking is for chat only. You can't manipulate matchmaking with it, sorry. If you had a game with a player you really hate, I recommend waiting a minute (or 2, depending on average queue time for that mode atm) so that you have a much smaller chance of getting them again if you both play another match.

I actually didn't know you would get a message notifying you about that. Thanks for the info! Sorry you had to play with him, though.

I understand completely that you can't Block someone and expect not to have to play AGAINST them... but this was someone who got slotted into MY TEAM. I don't care about whether someone I'm playing against is Muted or not... but I was under the impression that blocking someone was supposed to keep them off your team... and if they're a good player, then blocking them just disadvantages you (whoever is doing the blocking).

...as for giving them a second chance, I guess I maybe could have, but I tend to feel that life is too short to play with toxic people.

Get better than them and you wont see them in your games:P

but who cares if they're on your block list. If you had a disagreement in chat, (which is where most blocks come from) then leave him muted. If they intentionally fed a game, or left a game in the middle of it, they probably wont do it again lol.

The reason the blocked players are still in your games is because: think of the strategy ranked teams could have. If you have all 5 of your players, ban ALL the players in Gold 2 EXCEPT the bottom FIVE.. Then matchmaking would BE FORCED to put you against the worst 5 until you climb out of the division:P

I could Ban faker, and never have to challenge him.

You're not willing to give a person a second chance? What if they were just having a bad day before, and then suddenly the next game they play with you (which they probably won't remember your summoner name anyways, we tend to filter out bad memories naturally) everything goes differently and you get a new impression of them?

Also, if you weren't matched with players you've muted or blocked in the past, queue times would be effected negatively at an exaggerated rate.

######You catching my drift?
