Possible solution to ingame chat abuse.

Would it be a good solution handling toxic players with a ingame button in which you can vote to mute them? So you can solve flaming in chat and punishments for it. Only people who are not playing competitive in ranked games should be punished. Just an idea of mine.

RIOT NOTICE PLS IM A MAN OF JUSTICE

Garen item 3070

EDIT: Oh, yeah people are downvoting this. I guess many want it to be how it is currently cause they get their fun out of the game by watching drama and actually making people mad. They dont want a solution. Got it. One of the reasons people are quitting the game and only the passive- agressive douchebags remain. Got it sir. Downvote as much as you want i call it pathetic. I actually care about the game and still got some hope to have some fun playing it again but not in its current state. Looks like ill let this game pass forever.

EDIT: If you want to make league a more competitive and sportsmanlike game pls UPVOTE so riot might notice!

Why would you vote to mute them when you can just simply mute them directly and report after game?

The solution is; The Ignore function.

Problem solved... not sure how or why this is even brought up at all, ever , by people like you. There is already a function for it, a very clear function... and while this does not mean reporting the target is verboten, it also does not mean that it should not be used for precisely the reason it exists.

There is more or less no such thing as "in game chat abuse"

You have a mute feature and you are free to use it.

This kind of crap is far more "toxic" than "negative attitude" or words could ever be. It's like there is a whole class of player more concerned about getting back at their teammates for some slight or another. You know there's a game behind all that chat too, right?

You are never, never going to eliminate every single bit of negative chatter. Even if you did, its not going to get you what you're really after, which is respect. You can get the respect of your teammates by playing well and shrugging off the bullshit. Whining isn't going to do it.

It never used to matter what was said to whom, or how nice they phrased it. The focus was gameplay and in the end the words didn't matter if the job got done. You got called out on your mistakes, sometimes harshly, sure, but you also got to earn the respect of your teammates through skill and teamwork, not by making threats.

Those who find the chat disruptive are free to mute.

Essentially you are saying it is majority vote whether or not you have the ability to communicate with another teammate. No thanks.

Try focusing more on what you can (and should) control rather than everyone else.

Some people feel they want to one up asshats to show their place. Sadly, I do this sometimes, I sometimes don't mute people to see what idiotic shit they spit ojt
