riot doesn't help toxicity in league

Am i the only one who thinks riot contributes to the toxicity of this game? Take their preseason off-meta video, they encourage this while at the same time punishing it. I thought i was crazy at first but seeing how for example Ziggs was listed as an "adc/bot laner" now he is unlisted from bot lane. Can only think of 1 reason and that is because of "pros" not picking him bot anymore? I don't keep up with this "lcs" or "Pro" players but i did find it funny a few months or whatever or so ago I have seen ziggs listed as a bot laner now he isn't. I guess what I'm getting at is pro players do 1 thing or start a trend and if it blows up (I'm guessing) riot kind of gives it the seal of approval? I went Nocturne adc with barrier/heal got flamed out the arse but ended up doing good. Reported the players who flamed me through lobby report and via ticket to only have a riot agent tell me.

"In the future, I would definitely recommend muting players like this as soon as you see this sort of negative behavior, and continuing to report them afterward as even just one report will put a player on our radar. As far as steps you can take to avoid being flamed for your choices in game, that's a bit harder to give advice on. You can always try to play more meta strategies or picks, like playing Nocturne in the jungle instead of in lane, or looking up builds and runes online to copy. The best you can really do is just focus on your own gameplay and improving, and ignore the words of the naysayers while you're finding your feet."

Long story short encouraging players to play off-meta at the same time suggesting them to follow meta and what does meta equal? Whatever the quote on quote pros players do... I could be 100% wrong but just what i got following my interaction with this game this.

Champions show up in roles for champ select based on their pick rate. Ziggs got popular bot because people mimicked pro play, not cause riot forced it. Taliyah was nonexistent mid and got taken off that list for a bit... It's all automated.

Meta can be recommended because (usually) the meta exists because it's the best picks around. Riot will not punish you for making other picks (so long as you're trying to win and playing in good faith), but you're not going to see many challenger adc nocturne picks because it's just not good.

Has anyone ever really pick or not pick a champion to any role based on some arbitrary label? Maybe on low level accounts I guess.

They don't ban off meta play though.

Yep, you're in the very extremely small minority who thinks that. Also, they do not ban off meta plays.
