Do I really deserve a chat ban?

I haven't had chat bans in years, I stopped being toxic however recently I've got them twice. I also know a couple other people who got them who had never had them before, weren't toxic people and weren't flaming those games. My question is, has the system suddenly got a hell of a lot more strict? If so, why weren't players notified of this? Never have I see a post saying "this is what is considered toxic", which I think should be advertised if this is how strict they're going to be. Not once did I insult anyone this game, and I was continuously positive towards the non-toxic team members.

With my chat bans, I was playing Ahri mid. Throughout the game I was constructively communicating with my teammates, all except for an Urgot top, who was constantly flaming me throughout the game because I chose to help bot instead of top.

Side notes: Ignore the first couple messages, I was joking around with a premade. When I said "aHrI yOu ArE nOoB" I was quoting Urgot when he called me a noob, right after i got a triple kill or something. Throughout the WHOLE game, including post-game where he said he was going to report me, this guy was saying I was trolling, calling me a noob, saying I was trash etc. I think at one point he started insulting my personal life too, but I don't remember 100%.

I got chat bans for this:

Just because you bring a reddit upvoting flash mob/stream followers does not mean that it does anything. You had it pre planned with people to come onto the boards and upvote.

That said, that looks quite similar to my chat restrict over a year ago. The problem is that you CONTINUED to talk to the urgot and there was mild flame in there too. That chat log looks like it is about 20 mins worthish at least and almost half of your commentaries were... although fairly low key.... flaming the urgot.

What most likely happened is that along with this game.... you had multiple games along this line of mild flame that was not punishable by itself.... but still made a tick on your account. Like a slow drip into a bucket. Eventually the bucket overflows and then this happens.

My suggestion is just mute flamers, there really isnt any need to talk to them. Then it also keeps you from getting in trouble.

Saying in /all chat to report someone is considered report-griefing/inciteful actions. You really do need to be more civil with the playerbase or you’ll get much worse than a chat restriction.

I’m incredibly curious how you got so many upvotes though...

Idk it doesn't LOOK like you were doing anything wrong, but the flamer may have reported you and kicked the auto-system into gear. That is most likely the case.

This is toxic imo. You talk way too much in chat and you were borderline flaming your team multiple times. Just spamming this many messages is toxic imo. I would've muted you instantly and if I had seem some of those specific statements in game, most likely reported you for negativity.

Calling for reports and pointing out bad kda are considered low level toxicity. If this is a common trend for you, then it's possible you've had reports stack and this game nudged you over the line to be chat restricted.

Though if you're still curious, and if no one else can really bring in a 'definite' answer, you can always submit a support ticket asking about your restriction. They'll be able to point out what exactly snagged you.

You argued with your team and harassed them the entire time. Chat restriction deserved. If you think it was an incorrect punishment and continue to engage in this behavior, you can expect more punishments.

technically yes

you were harassing the team (or specifically a few players)

that offense would indeed cause a chat ban (if you were reported for it)

with chat be careful what you say and how much you say

after the first or second instance of the issue, you honestly should have just muted the player(s) in question and left it go

You harassed someone and made fun of them for being suicidal, how much worse can words get? and over their skill at league of legends no less. Maybe he just had a bad game and got snowballed on, and I'm sure the harassment didn't help him.

You have to remember that you are playing with real people with feelings.

We just want to play the game and have a good time and nobody should have to deal with this. Almost anyone will tell you that the shit talking is the worst part of this game and what keeps people from wanting to play.

The algorithm does not consider and cannot determine whether you are quoting someone else. In fact, it doesn't even take other players' chat into account. If someone says something which would result in punishment and you quote it, the IFS will treat both of you exactly the same (assuming both of you were reported). As for what else the IFS saw:

Personally, I don't think so. If we somehow had a way to see what he was saying, that would be able to open this a lot more. I don't see anything toxic, except for the "Ahri you are noob" and yes I know he was quoting/mocking, but people at riot might think differently. If you were both punished, then that would kind of seem fair. The best choice is to just mute him.

I like how he is toxic and puts ":*" "hahaha" to taunt more. Plus the score taunt is alone deserving a ban.

This sort of stuff needs a warning first. IMO there should be a reform card that pops up for like 3 days, but instead of a chat restriction/ban it says "WARNING: Continuing this behavior will lead to a ban" followed by chat logs. This is minor and should not be an instant chat restriction IMHO

1st you called your teammate a noob so you made him feel worse about himself. 2nd you complain about defencce and balance in game. 3rd you said (wtf) 4th you understimate someone with a bad game like you are the boss. (thats against the rules) 5th calling for reports. 6th (nice to see you get banned) 7th constantly saying kiddo a teammate. 8th you used caps to insult a teammate. 9th you typed alot instead of focusing and muting.

you broke 9 rules ofc you should get chat restricted lel what did you expect?
