Not your every day "unfair ban" post.
Hi everyone-
I'd like to take a little time to explain something that happened today, while giving you all a little context about myself.
My name's Ezille, I'm a previous toxic player- now a more reformed and mature player. It's been over 2 years since my last report, and I'm enjoying the game in ways I haven't before. Thanks in advanced Riot, for shaping me forward.
I was playing a game today, in which I had someone say in champion select "You're a melancholy fa**ot."
I was stunned, because I take offense to that word - I'm a gay man living in a pretty conservative area, I get it a lot - it hurts.
He then immediately banned the champion I had selected, while saying "lol oops".
We got out of queue, someone on the other team had dodged, and I was paired with him again (my fault, yeah, irrelevant for now).
He had announced early on in the game that he would end up not helping, he was done with my team - which was weird, because we were winning, and my team was doing well. We had asked the enemy team to report him because of his behavior, my entire team was against him at this point.
I hadn't exchanged any lashes out, maybe an occasional 'shut up'-
But I had told the enemy team that he called me that phrase (in direct quotes - basically like "he called me a ******") in game and in champion select.
I was reported after the game and now I'm facing a two week suspension. However, everyone in that game knew that he was toxic, and I was merely quoting what he had said - we had all ended up reporting him.
I don't really feel like this is a fair judgment on my account, as I did not lash out at him or anyone- I had stayed calm, kept my team encouraged and was able to carry a 4v5 victory.
I've reformed myself and it's really poor judgment to affect my account when I handled the situation as best as I could. I really feel like I should have my situation assessed and looked back at - and maybe demote my punishment to maybe a chat restriction? If that's even still justifiable.
Thanks for reading,
—Ezille
