So it was in the champ select screen, it was normal, I was first so I called top, I got top, then the other dude lock in top, his friend tell me that I didn't get top, and they keep communicated to each other in chinese. In game they keep calling me "sb wukong", "monkey","phillipino", so I was pissed, and there were 3 of them, all chinese so they keep gang up on me. I got banned obviously , because I used racist and offensive remarks toward my teammates, I totally get that. But did they get off free without punishment ? They use racist remarks, calling names and stuffs, why am I the only one got banned ? Because all 3 of them reported me and only 1 of me reported them ? Also beside "chi-ng cho-ng chinese", I don't think I use strong words that deserve 14 days banned ? If they report me for inting, that's not me inting, that just me being typical bronze 4, and I was really angry. I think I deserve to be banned, but not 14 days.

It doesnt matter what they did, you control your own actions.

The punishment tiers go

10 game chat restriction 25 game chat restriction 14 day ban perma ban

you can skip the 10/25 game restriction if you use hate speech like racism or slurs.

punishments have a 3-5 month degrading period, so if you're good for 3-5 months of steady play, its likely your punishment tier would go down by one. Though I wouldnt test this theory.

Also, a 14 day ban is your LITERAL FINAL WARNING. if you say one more negative thing when your 14 days it up, you will be instantly perma-banned, we see it on the PB boards ALL the time. Riot considers this ban to be your last chance to reform before they take your account, and all the skins/games you have on it with no refunds.

Retaliation is never OK according to the rules (and me).

All you're doing is making the environment more toxic. Racist remarks are ALWAYS worth a 14 day ban.

Currently there is no real way to tell if someone has been punished or not. You have to be the last person to report each one, they have to have gotten a 14 day ban or more, and even then you might not get the punishment notification.

If they actually werent punished we can't tell you why. The system is intentionally vague to deter people from trying to game it.

Since this is a 14 day ban I just want to remind you that:

You are no longer eligible for ranked rewards for this season The next punishment will be a permanent ban, and it can trigger from the slightest amount of negativity.

(I am not trying to rub salt in the wound, just want to remind you as we have alot of posts about this in the first place).

Do you deserve 14 days? Imo, yes - because they are (or used to be) written pretty clearly. I'm not sure where, I saw them 5 years ago... lol As with everything, I encourage you to try to turn this into a learning experience. So, a couple of things:

1 - Never Lock a champ until you are sure that's what you will want 2 - Play Draft Pick if you care a lot about which lane you get. If you don't have Draft Pick unlocked, then you should take the opportunity when you aren't able to get your lane as a learning experience in a new role. If you haven't insta-locked your champ, you can select a more appropriate champ for the role you get stuck with. 3 - It's just a game, there's never a reason to be mean/rude/racist (you have no idea what race they really are, btw...) in any way. I take this game very seriously when I play, but I'm tilted, resorting to throwing a temper tantrum like an 8yr old isn't how I handle it. Just accept that there are trolls out there and have fun with it, work on a combo, or just work in another lane and do your best not to die all game. 4 - As SOON as someone starts to tilt you in chat, mute their ass. Also, you can mute pings. It MIGHT factor in to you losing that match, but with someone like that on your team, missing pings aren't going to be the deciding factor. 4.5 - A lot of people in competitive play say that you should /muteall every game no matter what to do better. This is statistically proven to work, but it's not required for you to enjoy the game. I have had many games where friendly joking/banter/goofing off was the entire source of having fun that match (some, we even lost!)

Hopefully this helps you in the future! /AJakks

How do you know they weren't punished? I feel like 90% of these posts are by people who won't be satisfied unless Riot puts the other guy(s) in front of a firing squad.

hate speech is typically escalated straight to 14-days ban.

Multiple reports do the same thing as 1 report, and multiple reports don't get someone punished faster.

valid reports accumulate against the account and when it hits a certain number of games, that account will get punished.

The system only notifies you of a punishment when the game you punished them was the one that punished them. if they played another game, you'll never see a notification.

could you post the full chat logs? generally racial slurs are unacceptable but I've asked people to stop using moonspeak and ching a ling before.
