Chat Ban
I was in a match where I was missing smites like crazy. Every time I missed this mf would start screaming in chat. When she started typing in all caps I went on the defense and started flaming. Was I in the wrong?

The system doesn't care who started it. Each person is held accountable for their behavior in chat regardless of how other people were acting.
So there is no "in the wrong" since that implies that one side of the confrontation would be *in the right*. Flaming them is not going on the the defensive anyway. At best it's just retaliation.
Flaming isn't "going on the defense." It's retaliation. Yes, you were in the wrong. But don't worry, so was the other player.
If someone on the playground is beating you up but the teacher only sees you hit back. Are you in trouble? Yes. Is the other kid? Likely not. Is it fair? This is fucking life it's not designed to be fair.
