I feel like recently (past two months) the community, especially in ranked games has become exponentially more toxic. I really want to enjoy this game like I used to, but nearly every game I have people raging at each other or afking. It's getting to the point where I honestly don't think I can continue playing this game in this state anymore. What do you guys think, has toxic behavior increased lately?

Anyway, I don't think so.
In fact, I myself notice that community has become better since seasion 3.
But when near the end of season, you will have people on the edge (season rewards). Therefore, temporary increase in toxic in ranked.
Riot Lyte needs to be fired. He's in charge of player behavior and NONE of his projects have actually reduced toxicity in the game. Notice he always claims its working and toxicity is at all time lows and yet the players themselves can see this isn't true. I see trolls in literally 99% of my games. It's gotten worse and worse over time. Fire him and put in someone competent.
I started at the very beginning of season three, so I would have no idea. It definitely didn't seem like such a problem back then. It feels as if I have an overwhelmingly toxic player in every match now though =/.
I don't know in Ranked, but draft games have actually got a bit better - there are idiots, but a lot less dumbasses who just go and slurs you with heavy insults. You get the toxic guys, yeah, but you can actually handle them.
