What is exactly being done about grinding bots from Riot side?

So what is is RITO actually doing about this. I report these accounts but seriously this happens way too often [slayer-jinx-unamused]

I play a bot game at least once a day to check PING as I am from South Africa and due to our wonderful Internet infrastructure. [zombie-brand-facepalm]

Hopefully with the new client they will be able to detect and kick out those using third party software to Auto-farm IP as Bots.

Maybe give the player a prompt "League client has detected a third party app "App name here etc" that may interfere with the League client, Kindly close this app or you will be kicked from the current match making lobby. Thank you."

Players will have 15 seconds to comply, failing to do so will receive both a leave buster (for AFK) and Ban strike on their account (assumeing third party bot software).

This kind of thing currently cannot be monitored or tracked on the current league client. Hopefully something like this implemented with the new one.

Banning bots is a never ending task. Detecting bots is not an easy task what so ever, and each different botter programs their bots differently. As soon as they shut down one botting service, 3 more pop up. Nothing Riot can really do about it.

Additionally, you can check your ping without getting into game. https://www.reddit.com/r/leagueoflegends/comments/4efy17/how_to_check_your_ping_without_getting_into_the/

CSGO has a system where other players can "over watch" other players for third party software (in FPS games' cases, aimbots, wallhacks etc.) and help further contribute to the banning process.

I would suggest Riot mimics it to alleviate the situation.

Maybe add a captcha process pre-game.

Maybe add some kind of mid game anti AFK management or some kind of "real party" check when you/they die and in shop. Such as in the popular MMORPG Runescape. Players using macros/scripts/3rd party leveling software get a random event happen to their character that usually is a puzzle to solve to get back to play.

The bot problem has always been a continuing uphill battle that can cripple a game if nothing is done. Take games like runescape where botting became such a big issue but the amount of bots that were actually banned. It became such an issue that everyone began botting until 70% of the players did so. This destroyed the games economy and eventually the community. October 25th 2011. They finally created a system to kill the bot users and it was announced that any who had used a bot would get a perma ban. This killed off the majority of the community and many never returned after.

My point is Runescape was the number one free to play game in the world at one point. And the botting epidemic crushed it's player base.

The same can happen to league I have ran into many bots myself I find that they are mainly in Bot games and after around 9pm is when they seem to be most frequently active.

I don't think botting will hurt this game to the same degree but it definitely has an impact on new players more so than anyone else. That are just trying to play and learn the game but end up getting IP bots that run into the turrets or enemy bots. Blitzcrank
