How long does it take to get perma-banned?

I know vaguely how the system works in that bans progress until finally you get a perma-ban. Not saying I've ever got banned before, but I was just wondering how long does it take Riot to review the case in which you get a ban (perma-ban or temporary ban). Essentially I'm asking how long from the game that caused it does it take for the actual ban happen?

The Instant Feedback System reviews a case and gives punishment within 15 minutes of the triggering report.

Depends on the behaviour. Anywhere from almost immediate to weeks/months later.
