It would be really nice if Riot actually punished Inting/trolling in ranked

Really would be awesome if Riot cared as much about inting players as they do minor "toxicity"

Really wish 25% of my games didn't have someone rage quit after getting solo killed in lane twice or didn't pick Kennen support, refuse to leash, AFK behind the tower for the first 6 mins of the game so he was level 2 vs level 5s, then fed 13 kills by running into fights and pressing S because someone banned Vel'koz which he didn't even bother to hover.

Oh joy, this thread again 🙃

It has nothing to do with Riot's level of care. Chat violations are straightforward to detect and punish. Trolling is not, because they need to rule out lag, inexperience, incompetence, and skill mismatch. This usually means that an automated look isn't sufficient, and an actual human needs to review the game, which necessitates a wait list, ESPECIALLY with butthurt players reporting their bad teammates for inting out of spite rather than honest belief that they're a troll.

Could Riot do a better job of detecting trolls? Absolutely. But can we stop this useless complaint that they simply don't care about trolls?

Firstly, Kennen support is not trolling. It's certainly not META, but no pick really is a troll pick. Trolling is about how one intentionally and purposefully sabotages your team regardless of the pick. It is the intent that makes it trolling, not the pick itself.

Refusing to leash is not trolling, just difference in strategy. It's nice when they leash, but junglers should learn to be able to jg without a leash. Same with how laners need to learn to win lane without jg help.

AFKing for 6 mins behind a tower can suck, but maybe someone had some emergency that is distracting them from playing. What if they left the stove on and it started smoking up the house? But that in itself is not trolling. Come back feeding kills, maybe they just bad.

Secondly, we occasionally see Tantram smiting trolls on these boards. We see people get 14-day banned for inting (and griefing/trolling) here around once per week. So just because you don't see any punishment feedback on inting/trolling/griefing, doesn't mean they dont get punished.

I personally don't see that many inters/trolls/griefers in game, and the rare time I see an actual inter, I do get punishment feedbacks. Yes, the feedback is bad and that is where I believe Riot should focus on their efforts.

Listen The most important thing to do is NEVER EVER spend any money in this game

They want you to be banned so u start a new account and u might buy champions and skins. This company dont give a shit about the gravy train that is LOL. They could care less what you think or what happens. The whole game is set up around MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They don’t have a balance team its called the generate money team. You see it every time a new champ is released…Like wtf guys can you all wise up??? They don’t balance champs they make them op so noobs will fork out money and buy them coz they think they will win with them…what happens then????Nerf into the ground. The definition of madness is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result…THIS IS LEAGUE OF LEGENDS. The sooner you guys recognise this the better. Players get banned for the smallest things and the players who ruin games and destroy others hard work are just left to continue and just keep ruining others games and nothing happens. So there u have..hurt them where it hurt most and DON’T SPEND MONEY IN THE GAME and you will see things change..until that happens stop moaning…your part of the problem!!

Going afk isn't trolling and riot will likely never consider it trolling due to the very real possibilities of something such as Internet / power going out / real life emergency. Just because someone is angry before they leave, doesn't mean being angry is the reason they left. That being said, going afk is punished by the leaverbuster system, but that's more of a timeout before you can get into a game than it is a ban.

People "trolling" in ranked is very difficult for riot to punish because 99% of Riot's received reports for "trolling" and "inting" are just noobs or salty people reporting someone who had a bad game.

Straight up intentional feeding, such as running it down mid, usually gets banned pretty quickly by Riot on most servers, as it is much easier to detect. The only exceptions to this being Riot Korea and Riot Garena, which for some reason never bans anyone for anything other than calling someones mother a mean name. Idk what's going on in those servers, lol.

there is alot of factors that go into punishing trolls, as opposed to chat. chat rules are simple, you say rude shit, you get flagged/punished. "trolling" requires a lot of explanation, its referring to when a player is intentionally trying to lose a game, however, gameplay has ALOT of factors going into them.

The difference between etiquette and rules Etiquette is something you should do, but are not required. its proper etiquette to cut your steak, but they can't stop me from slapping my friends with it and chewing on it like a piece of bread. Rules are something YOU MUST follow. its required I dress formally when entering a fancy venue, but if I don't, they might throw me back in my car.

**Etiquette in league **

-Leashing -playing "meta" -building correctly -taking the right runes and stats

all of those are generally beneficial to the team, but its still possible to win without doing any of those, AP on hit ability based Vayne might be a shitty idea, but if she is trying her best to win, its still fine.

to summarize, Trolls are hard to detect and punish in a days time.

The people defending saying could be lag etc are morons fact. I had 2 feeders and a troll last match (casual). Wasn't lag etc you would know when its lag fact, if you played online games you would know fact. So the people that defend saying lag etc are trolling fact, also if it was inexperience why is that person grouped with us that know?.

Again the rules for chat are stupid, I posted this in another thread. When you get suspended it says (we know league is competitive), then why do people get suspended. When bashing trolls, feeders?. the people that make league are morons fact.

They do. Just look at all the "unfairly permabanned" people on the boards.

While I do agree it is frustrating, how would you differentiate someone who is bad at the game / someone who is having a bad game?

I am terrible at this game, and I feel like other players could get the wrong impression, or maliciously report me for not doing well.

Too bad.... Riot gives ZERO SHYT about you ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F9rBzKJxbOk

They take is a lot more seriously if you send in a ticket and take screenshots of them admitting to inting in the post game lobby.

I've been sending in lots of tickets lately and its been working. This one guy had an account with 2K games on it last season and soft intd me. No way the system would pick it up.

So I sent in a ticket with screenshots and a detailed explanation of his actions. Curiously enough he hasn't played any games in the past week ;)

I agree with you 100% but sadly this company does not give a dam. I have 100 screenshots showing inting and toxic players. Riot response to all of them "Don't worry were going to look into it, but we can't tell you what happens" and nothing happens the troll walks away to screw someone elses game over. What happens is you have legit players who call these trolls out and then get banned for toxicty. So whats RIOT solution oh just mute them and report. F****** joke

To be fair, if you die twice in lane, that lane is over for you. Especially in Top lane. So if you die twice in lane and all other lanes are failing, then there is no point to playing out that match. It's best to surrender and move on. It is really irritating to play with players that don't know when a game is over. This can happen as early as 5 minutes into the game. If every lane goes 0-2 in 5 minutes, that game is lost 100%.
