Rioter Respond, What do you do if 4 people afk?

I recently had a ranked game which demoted me where 4 people afk'd within the first 3 minutes of the game. You can review game footage to see I'm not exaggerating when I say that. Why should I be penalized or even ranked based on that kind of a game? Why isn't their a safeguard in place for situations which are overwhelmingly one sided. For example I cannot surrender till 15 mintues, but playing the game 1 v5 is near impossible. Beyond that I cannot afk without fear of being penalized by leaver buster.

Personally, I would ask the enemy team to take turns 1v1ing me until I can surrender at the 15 minute mark. Then say gg when I eventually forfeit and then report the afkers and try to go win some LP in the next one.

Because Riot doesn't understand how matchmaking should work or how to motivate competitive players in the current system. You can't do much except accept the hand Riot has dealt you.
