When should I switch from casual to Ranked?

So I’m level 43, came back to the game a few days ago, and I want to play competitively. I do really well in casual games, but horribly in Ranked, with almost entirely losses. At what point do I know that I am good enough to switch to ranked and get at least some wins?

I wanna say that depends what your after

Fun? Stay casual

Challange (and all the bull that comes with it)? Go ranked.

Just have a realistic understanding of what your getting into.

Ranked LoL is a very different game then unranked.

If ranked is your ultimate goal, you should play asap. Just jump right in. Ranked games are fiercely competitive so you will learn much faster playing against players that are trying their hardest to win.

Also, even if you lose a lot, you will find the elo you belong to, playing with and against players of your skill. When you improve, you will climb from that rank.

Personally speaking, the best time to enter Ranked is when you feel confident in your own abilities, though, it should also probably be noted that, at least for a little while, your matches in Ranked are going to look pretty awful compared to your matches in Normals.

I'm not sure if it has to do with calibrating your Ranked MMR (since it's separate from Nomral MMR as far as I know) or some other issue, but if you can power through that hump, you'll likely climb to the appropriate rank in no-time.

You should have one champion you are confident with in every role unless you are a support main in which case you just need to know support and your secondary role. As long as you can competently play at least one champion from each role you can go to ranked. The game will put you close to where you belong eventually whether that is in iron or challenger. Just expect to be iron or bronze if this is your first account and you lack experience. To improve overall I would suggest finding a streamer or youtuber who goes in depth about the choices they make in the position you like to play,

Honestly you will never get really good if you just grind casual games because people don't tryhard in those. I suggest you start right away and that you don't play ranked games to win, but play to get better.

Never. It's a needless headache. At best it is a less fun version of something that is only fun sometimes (but which has a high addictive potential).
