How to protect yourself from Riot Games!

Riot games implemented an IFS(Instant feedback System) program into their game that detects and picks up on key words that would deemed to be unacceptable in society and their game.

You need to protect yourself from this system, because RIOT does not manually give the ban as they allow the computer system to do it. It is not a competent system as it cannot take context into situation, and has no morality or ability to judge what has happened like a person could.

The way to protect yourself is to not use the chat, not using chat when you play with random people will give you the upper edge. It will allow you to stay free of conflict that an automated system could ban you for. Even if they are trolling you, egging you on it is honestly better to just alt tab pretend to play afk(that is the truth) then to be banned for defending yourself with your words, or you could continue to play. Riot doesn't care about self defense in any way or form, they want you to let them deal with toxicity and you defending yourself verbally is toxic. (they are controlling)

Protect yourself if you value your Free to Play account(that you spend money on), they have a large player base and rarely gives the time of day to players that were unjustly banned. Occasionally they will unban people depending on who they will save with their mercy, but most players aren't.

Take care.

I chat all the time and have never had so much as a chat restriction.

The REAL way to defend yourself is to not be an immature and toxic asshole. That's all there is to it. Don't engage in pointless squabbling when you're supposed to be playing a game. Don't flame people, even if you think they deserve it. Don't be racist. Don't be homophobic. Don't tell people to kill themselves. It's really not that hard.

It is not a competent system as it cannot take context into situation, and has no morality or ability to judge what has happened like a person could.

This is wrong. The system can understand context - whether you're calling yourself an idiot or calling your teammate an idiot for example.

The system can, but is programmed not to take into account other players' chat in your punishment. Riot does not care if you were egged on by someone else - or if you were flaming someone for trolling. The bottom line is a player punished contributed to the negativity in the game - even if they didn't start it.

I use chat every single game, and I have yet to get so much as a chat restriction on my account. It's not using chat that gets you punished, it's abusing chat.

This. So much this.

Just don't chat. With anyone. Ever.

Even if you think you're right, you're probably wrong. Even if you think you're justified, you probably aren't.

Nothing you ever say to anyone is going to change how they play, good or bad. Nobody's ever going to listen to your advice. Nobody cares what you think. Everyone's just going to do whatever it is they're gonna do, regardless of your input or lack thereof, so just....

Don't chat. Ever. The IFS has made chat an absolutely obsolete feature of this game. Riot may as well remove it.

I chat every game, never punished. Maybe it's a personal problem for some people?

some things here are correct. some are wrong. "defending yourself" i mean... a RANDOM person on the RANDOM internet that you RANDOMLY met for ~30min and after that prob. never again says RANDOM things about you to insult you for no reason. either mute or laugh your ass off about such an idiot.

also riot DOES ban for other stuff thats not chat related. but lets face it... chances are 1:1000000. reddit proved this more than just one time.

That's a pretty pessimistic view on chat. If you truly cared about winning, you'd communicate about objectives.

What people get punished for is consistent harassment, among other things. If you use your chat to be a jerk, then yea, you'll get punished.

Like others I use chat quite frequently in my games and have yet to be warned or banned since starting in late season 2. How? I simply use chat for neutral or positive messages, such as telling teammates gj on a successful play or for discussing strategy on what to do next. Do I get angry sometimes? Of course I do, but I choose to vent my anger and frustration at the screen instead of in chat. I also mute the problem players if it's clear they just want to yell at everyone.

If you must rage but want to do so in chat then just unnind your enter keys so you can't send your rage messages. Otherwise the problem is not with the ifs but with you the individual.

I guess the point I'm making is that while yes, it's a game, it's also a hobby or even sport to some. I mean...football/basketball etc. is just a game, too. Yet....it makes billions of dollars and people gamble their life savings over it. It gets serious. (Just like league!)

I guess the REAL point I'm making is that 'it's just a game' feels like a complete cop-out.

It's like spreading misinformation, like how A LOT of people think if you get chigger bites, you should put finger nail polish remover on it. YOU SHOULDN'T. THAT'S THE WORST THING YOU CAN DO. Yet SO MANY older people will SWEAR by up and down and refuse to listen. Kids aren't any different. I had a co-worker swear that it's illegal to drive without shoes on. I found this ridiculous and sure enough, turns out untrue. but hey, it's just a game ;)

(ok to sound less abrasive ((if I did?)) I'll say not so much a cop-out but a COMMON MISCONCEPTION of ignorance that spreads like the PLAGUE)

Chatting is the #1 way to get banned in LoL. Though..people have been getting unbanned as of late by crying that the were baited or coerced. Maybe it will work for you too?
