Why Riot? Permanent ban after someone purchases RP in shop. Isnt this stealing?

I am pretty sure this is a type of stealing and is against the law. I come off a winter break and make a purchase on my main account and moments later I receive a permanent ban. Soon to check my email about warnings or anything. I see nothing and only the loss of my main account in which I started in 2009 and contributed nearly $1000 which will never be replaced. Which is fine everything was spent in fun and to my account. Throught the 5 years playing on this account I have only received 1 punishement for a suspension.

So moments before I make purchases of $30 on my main. Boom a "permanent ban". I demand a refund and some clarification to what is happening. It might be nice maybe if Riot could use some common sense and maybe have some sort of program or interface that will let players have a shop timer during moments like this. Kinda bs that if someone is going to be punished and under the assumption that everything is okay and dandy. Makes a Riot purchases and losses that money and account moments after making a purchase.

I mean stuff happens I get it and I'm okay if I did something terribly wrong were a perm ban would be necessary but look at the facts. You guys accepted my money knowingly that I would get a permanent ban. I want my money refunded. I am positive that I am not the only one that has experienced this.

Happy New Year.

No not stealing at all and if i may under section 3 part e-1 RIOT GAMES RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SUSPEND, TERMINATE, MODIFY OR DELETE YOUR ACCOUNT AT ANY TIME FOR ANY REASON OR NO REASON, WITH OR WITHOUT NOTICE TO YOU, AND WITH NO LIABILITY OF ANY KIND TO YOU.

under section 4. YOU ACKNOWLEDGE AND AGREE THAT ANY APPLICABLE FEES AND OTHER CHARGES FOR FEE-BASED SERVICES (INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION RIOT POINTS) ARE PAYABLE IN ADVANCE AND NOT REFUNDABLE IN WHOLE OR IN PART. YOU ARE FULLY LIABLE FOR ALL CHARGES TO YOUR ACCOUNT, INCLUDING ANY UNAUTHORIZED CHARGES.

also it is not BS the moment you got your first warning you were at risk of getting banned

Yeah, might've been a problem with the actual RP purchase if you only got 1 suspension before. Your bank might've automatically charged back your purchase for some reason which made it look like you were trying to scam Riot.

Send a support ticket and look through your bank account logs to see if this is the case. Should be easy to resolve.

If you were permabanned for another reason then this is still a dick move but perfectly legal as you accepted Riot's TOS when you installed or patched the game.

I agree kinda stealing. I am pretty sure I spent 400 or more dollars on this game and not getting my money back from something I am not going to play anymore is bullshit.

u can argue about TOS or EUL all want I sued Riot in small claims court and won peace out riot ur game sucks

What were you actually banned for?

AJStarhiker1/4/2016, 7:35:50 PM1 votes

Does the popup give a year on the ban, or is that just the email? In general the year used is actually a code to the the reason for the ban.

I don't have the link on my phone, but if you google LoL ban year codes, you should be able to find the forum post with a list.

As well post the reform card as they are required to tell you the reasoning behind the ban. Also the summoner name!

it's probably just a chargeback issue, although if it is something more serious I'd look into riots poor banning system. if you had only 1 suspension in the past 5 years, then it should have been wiped when they implemented their failure of an automated system.

I would try to go through riots support system, and hope that you actually get a competent person.

Back when this account got banned, I put money on it. I actually didn't rage or anything (I was more than aware it was coming soon) but just emailed Riot asking if I could get the money I just put on it back(I rarely spent money on this account but it was my first time spending 20$ for a skin that just came out). I was polite and just told them to situation, believe it or not, as 1 time courtesy they refunded me the money. Try being nice, and people will be nice to you, after all Riot employee's aren't raging teenagers on a video game. They are usually sensible adults

What was the ban for?

You willingly gave them money. That isn't stealing. This is the dumbest attempt to get back at Riot that I have ever seen.

Support ticket, or credit card charge back.

Hi MrPumpKin,

There are numerous reasons why your account can get suspended, not all of them are permanent even if it looks that way. You should have gotten a message in the client, or an email explaining why you have the suspension. Check the junk mail folder in your email, as sometimes messages can go there.

If you still can't find the information, I would recommend submitting a support ticket to get further information directly from Riot. There is not much anyone on the boards can do to help, so the support ticket is your best option.

Bruh, the moment u buy rp, u forfeit ur moneys

Lao Fu the Tiger1/4/2016, 7:22:32 PM1 votes

9/10 times, this means your card or account simply got rejected; the transaction still "goes through" (if I recall correctly) and you get the RP, then when your card gets declined, it automatically suspends the account until the issue is resolved.

No worries man, just send a ticket and they'll be happy to work with you :)
