Regarding my permanent ban

To whom It may concern, I am writing this regarding my recent permanent ban from League of Legends. While I recognize that my behavior was repugnant and unjustified, it is not part a pattern of negative behavior. On 10/16/18 my sister was taken to the hospital with what was contemporaneously thought to be a stroke (since diagnosed as a severe Fibromyalgia Flare.) Nervously waiting, I decided to queue up for a match in League, aiming to distract myself from my worries. Unfortunately, I was unable to keep a clear head and consistently harkened back to worst case scenarios. This led me to have a particularly bad game (going 3/15.) I was frustrated with my poor performance and I lashed out, due to a degree of emotional vulnerability predicated on worry. I am incredibly ashamed of my actions. I would like to request that my permanent ban be reduced to a temporary suspension. While my behavior on 10/16/18 was particularly negative it represents a single instance of negative behavior precipitated by severe worry. Across all my games, I typically receive honors and attempt to lift the spirits of my team. This is underscored by the fact that when I received the ban, only one game was used as evidence for my negative behavior; and that I have previously never received a ban. While I understand that reversals of permanent bans are extremely rare, I would be incredibly thankful if you would please holistically review my case. Very Respectfully, Seb

Everybody's got a story. Yours may be true. I wouldn't know.

On the boards, we can only comment on the raw facts of your punishment. Based on your logs, the textbook result of your behavior is an escalated punishment. This would typically be a 14-day ban on an account in previously good standing. If you had recent punishments, it could mean a perma. I don't know what specifically you mean by never having a previous ban, but if you aren't counting a two-week suspension, then yeah, a perma is to be expected here.

Your best course of action is to open a support ticket, make your case, and hope for the best. The boards have zero ability to alter a punishment. Be advised that the general rule of thumb is that punishments are not overturned unless they were made in error, so this is a long shot at best for you.

Personal problems don't excuse you for being toxic. Riot doesn't give out special privileges because you choose to play the game during a troubled time. The community didn't have to suffer your toxicity just because you're unable to keep a clear head. Also, zero-tolerance means zero-tolerance.

Make a new account and just don't do what you've been doing. Your 14-day ban was your last warning.

You have had a prior 14 day punishment before?

You used zero tolerance words, trying to mask it as another meaning. This would net an automatic 14 day with a clean record; perm if priors exist.

"Bundle of sticks" Regardless of what you supposedly meant to have it used for, racial, ethnic, and homophobic slurs are a zero tolerance policty.

Literally no one uses its old meaning anymore so the argument that you were talking about sticks is stupid. No one else will think of sticks and even you recognize the implication of the word and even use it to taunt your teammates. it’s an incredibly homophobic slur tied to decades of violence. Punishment deserved.
