Why Do People Hate Toxicity?

I am not gonna waste your time. The only reason I play league is for the toxicity. I heard league was toxic so I had to check it out. I really enjoyed playing the game and I realized it actually was very toxic. I got roasted for feeding because I didn't know how to play and I also roasted others who didn't know how to play. It is honestly pretty fun. Also, if people don't want to participate they can mute each other or ignore each other so there is really no problem with toxicity. It brings life to the game and I am only here because of it. I also feel like it encourages people to do better because if they are flamed once for feeding then they don't want to get flamed so they try to do better. I know that some people quit because of toxicity, (especially new players) but I feel attracted because of the toxicity. Are there any of you who also like the toxicity? I would love to hear what you guys have to say about it.

More people would rather not deal with it. Simple as that. You enjoy it? Good for you, doesn't mean someone else has to.

I don't know what it is about League players and the extreme averseness to "toxicity". Of all the games I have played over the years, no community has ever reacted to "toxicity" the way League players do. Its quite odd. I'm sure part of it is just the nature of the game and how you are forced to play for at least 15 minutes though.

There can be many reasons. I will lay out the most obvious (for me) ones:

  1. some people don't know how to use mute button
  2. only few use /mute all. Mostly people mute reactively what means they already got kinda tilted of your flame, what affects their performance negatively
  3. this one really made me laugh "I also feel like it encourages people to do better because if they are flamed once for feeding then they don't want to get flamed so they try to do better" honestly I think it is typical flamer thoughts. The truth is very few will increase their performance. High likely the following will happen a) you both will start shittalking the whole game and waste time, lose focus, litter the chat; b) person will do the exactly opposite or will never do what you asked for, just because he treats it as "revenge" or "idgaf what you say" c) person will get tilted and perform much worse, d) worst scenario person will start inting to you (letting you die, taking your cs, walking behind you all the game e.t.c) Your assumption is that negative motivators work. While they might work, they have much more chances to make situation worse.
  4. flamers don't realize that even though some people do what flamer asked, they would do it, because it makes sense (if it does) they would do it as well, if you just suggest it.
  5. As I mentioned before flaming litters chat and can decrease the team performance. That's the main reason why I don't flame and why I always mute and report flamers regardless who they flamed. You literally losing my fcking lp.

That the main points I could think of right away. There is much more to it.

Honestly, I think that people who are toxic deserve to get flamed back. But at the same time, I feel like the leagues are too hard to climb into with feeder teammates and you can't flame them without getting reported.

because if I wanted to deal with assholes I'd just go outside

Its pretty hard not to be toxic when you have 3 dumbasses on your team that accidently eed your lane 20 kills like how the fuck

The toxicity is more fun than the game itself when its 1 sided, something to the pass the 15 min time, I enjoy seeing/getting harassed cause it allows me to feel the little emotions I have from getting bursted in .1secs, threatened, flamed pinged ? over and over again, but eventually.... you'll get bored of it,you see 3/7 of them get punished while you get away most of the time scot free. that's just how bad the game has sunk into the toxic cesspool while being super strict about reports that are like chopping off a pinky nail, used to be a great game for people with addictions and depressions to go to where you actually get challenged right up next to your skill challenge with insane 1v1s like a nunu vs syndra both have no mana but nunu clapped her with 10 autos, but I don't really reccommend this game to any1 anymore unless they like seeing a ticking timebomb of toxicity when you hit no on a ff 4/1 vote as they accuse you of hitting no when you're the first person to surrender and is revealed to your whole team lmao, it's like you're playin Velkoz and just analyzing what a human would do in this situation with the reflection of how they feel about the "game", ah but it makes me feel a bit sad that there's barely any1 kind and playful(although a bit annoying but charming) in chat anymore since now it's a gloomy game where "top 8%competiveness?>92%fun" so players now a days just are edgy, cold hearted, merciless, muted every1, ask for reports, harass, m7 emotes ez right click "skill" champs etc etc, honestly if you want to steel your sanity play this game, a few mistakes will get a metric ton of complaints from the "team" mates at least once per game on either side.

Oops sorry for the long post,I'm really bad at summarizing and thinking with proper grammar etc.

honestly i dont mind it. I gets the thought thru quicker, maybe they will actually do something. Toxicity is very good in some cases but bad in some as well.

I like toxicity because sometimes it can be funny, while other times it motivates me so i can prove them wrong. When a person ingame says "We got this team dont give up!" I just cringe and dont even care about winning at that point idk why.
