Why does Riot allow use of "n-word" and "f-word"

-The Really bad Stuff -Hate Speech -....uses of words commonly associated with this behavior, as well as circumventing the boards filter by posting modified versions of said words.

We all know that the n-word means and the f-word is not fuck, it is the forbidden 6 letter one. Isn't typing out n-word and f-word respectively "circumventing the boards filter"?

Riot treats these words as taboo, the things that can not be said much like Lord Voldemort was in Harry potter. Context doesn't even matter i'd assume for these words can only be said safely though use of innuendo. They have powers much like magic spells, just uttering them can supposedly cause major distress in otherwise rational human beings. It is very very weird.

Because you can't ban everything.

If you ban "n-word" people will use "word that begins with n" or "letter-after-m word" or "linguistic structure that begins with the letter before o", and on and on and on.

They can't use the hate speech, and that's a good start. You can't ever fully block someone's ability to get a specific point across though, and past a certain point it's not worth the effort.

If someone used "the N-word" or "the F-word" in an offensive or insulting way, we would remove them the same way we would remove the words themselves. We allow these references so that the words can be discussed, much as we are doing in this thread.

They don't. They instantly punish anyone that uses them. Heck, I even got my comment removed from boards for using the f word without directing it to anybody and as a complete joke.

I know most people use the "F" word in a bad way, but the word actually has meanings going back in history, and the N word people take offense to it, but we don't think about the commonly used words like "Ap*", or "Appl*" these are both extremely racist words if said to certain people who take offense to them so I am curious to why everything isn't filtered?

I don't get why it matters lol. When have you thought "boy there's no other word I can use right now other than ft or nr" other than when using it in a derogatory way towards someone else. Of all things riot could waste their time with banning the phrase "n-word" is pretty ridonk

Riot DOES NOT allow the use of Ni...g..g....e..r.. Okay i can promise you that. I have an account perma banned on league because i said it too much in game and players cry about it. Not sure why. It doesnt have anything to do with them lmao. Its like me trying to say ww2 germany!! But no one cares.

Well point is this comment will be deleted soon and then you will know that riot does not tolerate the n word. Really wish ppl stopped caring about the word tho. Rap music has the word in half the entire songs lyrics.. doesnt seem like anyone cares about that tho.

They don't "allow" them, those words are banned for a reason. The boards isn't the place to discuss or use words like that. They can't ban everything like n-word or a word that starts with n or that one n word that's offensive. The words themselves are banned because they're linked with hatred and discrimination. Two things that shouldn't be present on a website to discuss videogames either for fun or professionally. As for the word itself. You can take it up on another discussion website with real opinions to get educated on why the words have become what they are. Other than that they are banned and they should be and I completely support that. Yes it's just a word but it provokes certain behavior not welcome in a discussion.
