Context should be taken into account in banning players for "slurs"
I only say this not because I am banned, but because I know that league will 14day/perma ban you for use of certain slurs like the N word or F word (pertaining to black or gay people)
so I wanted to run a little experiment of my own to actually test the system and give some feedback on it
The experiment was to not play any games for a series of days to ensure there where no games in which I reported anyone and that, that person may be waiting for a punishment.
After those days I recently played a few games in which I purposefully attempted to bait players into saying those two words with phrases like "what is the word that is used as a slur against gay or black people I forgot?"
sure enough in one game players did end up using the word, in attempts to obviously answer my question, so from there I would report them for using that word, and wait and see how good this instant feedback system is.
sure enough I leave my PC for a few minutes and boom I come back to an instant feedback reported player has been punished, in each and every game (about a total of 3 or 4) that I did this.
Now you might say "hey that was a jerk move of you to do" or be mad at me that I baited them into getting punished, HOWEVER I did it as a reason to show a flaw in this system, context isnt taken into account at all. I'm not saying this because Im punished Im doing this to try and help riot fix this system and make it better, because It is my belief that somebody shouldn't be banned just for simply using the word, but they should be banned only if somebody took offense and reported them for the use of that word, provided the use of the word was used in a toxic manner.
Those are just my two cents on the system, that it shouldnt be possible for me to bait somebody into saying the word then report them and get them banned.
whats worse? theres no punishment for anyone actually doing something like this and I feel like there should be a punishment where people try to get players to break the rules so they can report them
