So I got chat restricted today, after playing a game with two trolls. It all started when the jungler kept accusing the support of trolling BEFORE the game started. Then the Yuumi got fed up with him and actually started trolling, by not leaving his side and taking his XP. Right when we spawned I exclaimed displeasure at the fact that I forgot to switch my runes, and then Udyr claimed I was a troll and said the game was over. Throughout the game I started 3/0 and our bot lane was alone but not doing absolutely horrible, the Jhin never died early game. Throughout the entire game, Yuumi and Udyr insult each other about their moms, how they are stupid, blah blah blah. I muted them at first but then I tried to get them to stop because they kept just typing. Soon enough Jhin gave up and said to open mid and just end the game. This is understandable, I went a little far by calling him a troll, but I don't think that qualifies for a chat ban. The other thing I said that might've caused alarm was when I said "just be good" which was also uncalled for, but the Udyr kept saying the game was over because of Yuumi. Also Udyr said something about us getting run over by a truck ? xD

The point is, I feel like whoever is reviewing these cases should spend a little more time looking at the context. I am usually a very positive person, as people give up easily in ranked and I try to bring the spirits up. Game 1 In-Game I love bdd: FUCK im on the worng runes I love bdd: is that what u meant? Nope. People aren't perfect. But for better or worse, context doesn't matter. At the end of the day you are the one making the conscious decision to type and your actions are your own. Nobody is forcing you to type.

I'm also guessing that this isn't the only game that you were restricted for. If it was the only one on your card I would submit a support ticket to try and get a little clarity. For a single game like this, a chat restriction does seem a bit heavy handed. It wasn't a positive log by any means and one that could definitely add to your case for punishment, but not enough to being punished on it's own.

Also - One report does as much as 9 reports in a single game. Because of this, you do not need to call for more reports in a game. Doing so repeatedly throughout a game can be considered harassment, which also may hurt your case.

It does not matter the context. Period. You are in control of you. They did not make you say anything.

That said, it looks to me that you spent most of the time arguing, which doesnt help you and doesnt help them. Seeing as Jungle exp isnt split when allies are near, Yuumi being on him is actually not doing anything except help him at that point.... So they could be a duo troll. That you spent the entire game argueing and complaining about. So now the question becomes... when it is obvious they are trolling, why do you get into a conversation with them?

Did the thought occur to you that you probably shouldnt message back when it was obvious they were not listening? That looks like possibly chat logs of about 25 mins of game... Maybe 30? That is honestly about 20-25 more than I would have listened to it at all. That is time that you could have spent more focused on the game, or helping out other allies, etc.

There also is 0 reason to call out for additional reports. 1 report is the same as 9. Trust me, ive had my fair share of 4 man reports with 5 man enemy team reports because they just decided to target me that game in an attempt to make me tilt. Still have only had 2 chat restrictions (with years apart) in over 8000 games. 9x means nothing. It is a completely waste of time and effort trying to get additional reports onto the person or people simply for your egos self validation. That is blunt, but that is all that calling for additional reports is. People wanting others to agree that the player should be reported.

Yeah, that's not toxic, but riot gives you chat restrictions if you argue at all. And honestly,

Just mute toxic players. That's literally all you can do. You can't reason with them. You can't convince them otherwise. They just want to use you as a verbal punching bag, so don't let them.

If they're trolling, you also just have to shut up and take it. It's great. This system is great. So many people are allowed to just ruin games by trolling/soft inting and not saying trigger words or even using trigger words but spelling them differently. Maybe if you don't react to their trolling they'll play normally. That's your best chance. However, it's not even really a good chance, just the best one.

Yeah, that's normal OP. If you join them, you become a part of the entire team ready to be benched for arguing/negativity etc. Just don't be a part of it, play your own game. No need to stop people from throwing rotten tomatoes at each other and if they come your way, duck (/mute) next time. Don't ask for reports. (One or multiple do the same thing) Don't tell people that they are toxic. Don't call someone a troll (even if they are). Don't tell people that they are going to get banned. Basically, anything that can be labelled as being 'Negative' can get you CR'd. Try not to argue, avoid typing too much. Especially if what you're saying is more inclined towards blaming. Overall, before you throw something in chat, think thrice on whether it will offend another person even if its a fact! Because Riot will only be judging you by your logs alone and not anyone else's.

Just be as kind as possible. And if you can't take it anymore, /mute them or use /mute all. Go get a glass of water/drink! Get some chips, pet your dog/cat a bit for a few minutes. Then get back to the game! Basically, just do this every time you feel like smacking someone in the face in chat.

This may be personal advice. But I completely feel for you because I've been in your shoes (I think) so I felt like saying it. I hope that you don't mind this! If you're playing the game to get away from family issues then that isn't the solution. You have to talk it out with your family and one thing to remember is - you can't change others, you can only change yourself. Strangers are much harder to reconcile over a game than your family is, I can assure you of that. Mostly because you know the ins and outs of everyone around. Not the same to do with strangers and at most, you can help fix things on the surface if anything. That said, if my advice was uncalled for - I'd like to apologize. Please don't mind me. [cass-cry]
