I just realized something...

I'm going to be toxic because the environment is unavoidable in this game.

I was just Auto-Filled Support with an ADC and Jungler that fed my lane opponents. I tried to pull up a surrender vote and it failed 1 to 4.

This is nowhere near a rarity. This is a very common occurrence in my matches. In this particular match I held my tongue as long as I could, but I exploded after a while as 3 more surrender votes failed 1 to 4 and we were just losing more and more towers, more and more lives, more and more objectives. And my team just dismissed my grievances as simply "being salty."

It was clear to me that these matches are not winnable after a certain point, but I feel like I'm the only one who ever sees it how it is.

I suppose what I want to ask is how to PROPERLY deal with this scenario. Because the way I acted only caused my team, and the enemy team, to express desire to report me.

It didn't solve anything.

throws happen all the time. Especially in low ELO, people don't know how to close out games. If you failed 4 surrender votes and still playing, it means that there is a way to win, you just don't see it as your skill level may not be up there.

there are ways to make surrender votes more successful.

  • dont just spam surrenders on cooldown. wait for the right moment. right after a badly lost team fight is the absolute best time. if two or more teammates are arguing it can also be a good time to try a vote.

  • dont try to convince people to surrender. it doesnt work. the only thing you are likely to accomplish is to get your teammates to dig their heels in. now they can never surrender because it would be admitting they were wrong and you were right. you also will end up getting reported.

  • try playing a different region. NA players dont like to ff. no idea why but in our region only about 15% of games end in surrender. europe is slightly higher and in korea nearly 30% end in surrender. if you really want to play with less optimists then play in korea.

you arent the only one who loves a surrender vote. good luck!

If losing a game causes you to be toxic, that's your own damn problem. The burden is on you to understand how to lose with grace. After all, that's gonna be 50% of the matches you play. We've all had bad teammates, we've all BEEN the bad teammate. Doesn't mean you get to flame people.

You spam surrender and wonder why the team is not happy with you.

Americans love underdogs

We love seeing upsets against top teams in sports or the little guys winning against a big, bad corporation. We love stories and movies about people succeding despite severe disadvantages. And refusing to surrender is either a conscious or subconscious desire to be that success story, even if it's just for that game.

Europe, Korea, and other regions have their own value sets that influence their willingness to surrender.

Stop playing the game. Seriously. It's shit and terrible one-sided with no amount of skill required to win. Button-mashers = wins.

Find something else worth your time, mate, because this company and this product are not.

This game is up for all ages, therewithin lies the problem.

IF you make this game 14+ and ask for a ID to register ALL your accounts, this game is much easier manageable and you could decrease toxicity. But hey.. lets argue about lootboxes first isntead of management
